In 1978, the second year of the resumption of the college entrance examination, more than 500 people applied for the Zhiqing Farm where Sun Xiong was located, and only 5 people were admitted in the end, and Sun Xiong was one of the breakouts. At that time, the realization of the "four modernizations" was the main theme of the times, and industrial modernization was the top priority. Sun Xiong, who has worked in an automobile manufacturing plant, deeply feels that China's industrial technology needs to be improved urgently, "Our car cab is knocked out by hand, and the engine block is scrapped in large quantities due to casting technology." Sun Xiong, full of enthusiasm, held the lofty ideal of transforming Guangdong machinery casting technology and helping the country realize industrial modernization, and entered the Guangdong Mechanical Institute (the predecessor of Guanggong) to study casting.

At that time, the school conditions were still very difficult, the library was not large, and Sun Xiong lived a two-point and one-line life of "dormitory-classroom". "Create conditions without conditions!" At that time, there was a room for ten people in the dormitory, and we took a wooden shelf in the middle of the bed to make a bookshelf, and at night, after the lights went out, we flashlighted and read books. Originally, he served as the class president and deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee (student representative) of the college, and in the process of holding activities, arranging internships and coordinating affairs, he exercised and demonstrated outstanding organizational and management skills.

During his time at university, he and his classmates in the student union were responsible for organizing theatrical performances. "At that time, the age span of students at the same level was large, from teenagers to their thirties, and 'old, middle-aged and young' had different preferences, and how to select and present 'young and old' sports and performance projects became the primary problem." To this end, he learned to select and employ people and market research, excavate the excellent qualities of his classmates, provide opportunities to show in line with the characteristics of each person, fully mobilize and inspire the team, and continuously polish the program in combination with the publicity theme and the taste of the audience.

In the senior year, the school arranged for students to go to the Second Automobile Manufacturing Plant (the predecessor of Dongfeng Motor Company) in Shiyan, Hubei Province. In 1982, Sun Xiong came to Shenzhen to work after graduation, and since then, the profound "internal skills" of practicing in the university have always helped him cut through thorns and open up the situation. His state-owned enterprise once faced an economic dispute case, he stepped forward at a critical moment, used the knowledge he learned to fight on the basis of reason, recovered huge economic losses for the enterprise and the country, and then led the company to quickly turn losses into profits, and thus won the honorary title of "Shenzhen Top Ten Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs". "The basic knowledge of mechanics and mechanics of materials that I learned has cultivated my problem-solving thinking ability and played an important role in my subsequent business activities."

In 1992, Sun Xiong took advantage of the opportunity to visit the manufacturing plant in Japan to inspect construction machinery, and he paid attention to the fact that Japan had realized the automatic production of ceramic inserts in optical fiber active connectors, "and at that time, all the domestic cables were used for telecommunications transmission, and communications were quite backward, so optical fiber communications must be a key industry introduced by the state." The seeds of innovation slowly sprouted in his heart, and he was determined to introduce production lines from core processing, detection and assembly of the whole industry, changing the situation that the domestic high-level transmission network was all imported.

In 1997, Sun Xiong, who was in his prime, resigned from the senior management position of a state-owned enterprise and bravely "went to the sea" to establish a communication technology company to specialize in optical fiber connector production projects. "I want to serve the society on the basis of realizing personal value, and the career I am engaged in is filling the gap in the field of national optical fiber communications to a certain extent." Sun Xiong said that once the product was launched, it quickly occupied the market and successfully entered the national mobile network, telecommunications network and television transmission network, providing advanced and high-quality product support for the construction of the national modern optical fiber communication network. It is worth mentioning that the products are also exported to Hong Kong and Macao, exported to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, becoming a famous local brand, realizing his ambition to "bring Chinese manufacturing out".

In 2014, with the gradual opening of technical service policies, Sun Xiong decided to enter the high-threshold quality inspection field, and successively set up testing laboratories and companies in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta to provide high-quality measurement calibration, inspection and testing services for the local area. In 2020, the company established radio 5G technology metrology calibration, 5G inspection and testing laboratory, and created a development model and competitive advantage of the whole industry chain laboratory (hardware) + testing automation platform (software). Shenzhen South China Testing Center and Nanjing Huajue Testing Company are rated as national high-tech enterprises, which are authorized by the Jiangsu Provincial Government as provincial electronic public testing platforms. Sun Xiong believes: "Every product, like the laws of the economy, has to go through innovation, development and decline. Sun Xiong: The biggest difference between people is not birth, ability, money and power, but a way of thinking, to dare to break the traditional thinking, and correct thinking first requires insight and vision. Everyone should pay more attention to domestic and foreign news, insist on learning, communicate with experts, expand ideas, and use strategic thinking to make decisions about whether to start a business or not.

The material forming and control engineering major belongs to the mechanical major, involving metal and plastic material forming process and equipment and control, mold design and manufacturing, product innovation design and computer application, etc., is the cross-combination of mechanical engineering, material science, control engineering and other disciplines, is the basic core major of advanced manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing technology.
