The second-instance judgment of Zhang Jin's evil forces gang crime case was pronounced

From December 2016 to May 2018, Zhang Jin and others repeatedly demanded "debts" from guarantors and borrowers in the name of liquidated damages in the name of private lending, in the name of collecting inspection fees and first interest, and by means of beatings, intimidation, and other means, forced and lured borrowers to sign inflated loan agreements. After the victims were unable to repay, they harassed and intimidated the victims by means of spraying words, verbal threats, illegally controlling the victims' personal freedom, blocking keyholes, and laying wreaths, forcing the victims to repay money far higher than the principal, and gradually formed a criminal gang of evil forces with Zhang Jin as the leading element, Zhang Xin, Wu Deqi, Wei Zhongyong, Pan Zhenjie, Cui Jifeng, and Yu Tao as active participants, and Su Jiangwei, Xing Yuqing, and Yan Xiangfu as the general participants. The criminal gang of the evil forces carried out 15 crimes of extortion and extortion, involving an amount of more than 320,000 yuan, 2 crimes of illegal detention, 4 crimes of picking quarrels and provoking troubles, and 1 crime of fraud, involving an amount of more than 34,000 yuan.

The Laiwu District Court sentenced Zhang Jin to 18 years and 6 months in prison and fined him 690,000 yuan for extortion, illegal detention, picking quarrels and provoking troubles, and fraud; Zhang Xin was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months in prison and fined 350,000 yuan for the crimes of extortion, illegal detention, and picking quarrels and provoking troubles; and the remaining defendants were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment ranging from 10 years and 6 months to 2 years and 6 months, and fined accordingly.

After the verdict was pronounced, Zhang Jin and 10 other people appealed against the first-instance judgment. Recently, after trial, the Jinan Intermediate People's Court held that the facts of the crime determined by the first-instance judgment were clear, the evidence was credible and sufficient, the characterization was accurate, the sentence was appropriate, and the trial procedure was legal, and a final ruling was made in accordance with law, rejecting the appeal, and upholding the original judgment.
