In our cognition, if a person wants to get into a good school, he needs to have a certain talent, and to obtain a high degree, he must go through many years of study and training. If a person is admitted to Peking University, a top university in the mainland, and has a doctorate, most people will think that this person is a hard-working genius, and in time he must be a pillar of the country.
In reality, there is such a person who meets the above two conditions at the same time but finally works as a low-income household in the countryside for more than ten years, this person is called Zhang Jinsheng.

1. Juvenile Adult Talent Entry
Zhang Jinsheng was born in a rural family in Changde, Hunan. The name was given by my grandfather, who was the head of the village at the time, and it means "to victory".
The young Zhang Jinsheng is very smart, Zhang Jinsheng's second sister Zhang Wenhua said that his younger brother is the kind of person who doesn't have to work too hard and has particularly good grades, and he is what outsiders call "someone else's child". At that time, after finishing studying in the village primary school and Zhendeqiao Middle School, Zhang Jinsheng, who was among the best, successfully entered the famous local Changde No. 1 Middle School.

After entering high school, Zhang Jinsheng was admitted to university in the second year, but he was brushed off because he did not perform well in the first exam. After returning to school, Zhang Jinsheng worked harder, and was admitted to Hunan Medical University to study clinical medicine in the third year.
Speaking of medicine, Zhang Jinsheng was not his first choice, he originally planned to enter another university in the province to study civil engineering, but the medical major was assigned after graduation, and there was a good place to go after graduation. Under realistic considerations, Zhang Jinsheng chose to continue to study medicine.
After 5 years of university life, Zhang Jinsheng was assigned to the Blood Disease Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences in Tianjin to study leukemia. But at this time, Zhang Jinsheng discovered one of his defects - fainting blood. As a doctor in a hematology hospital, Zhang Jinsheng, who was sick with blood, was destined to be unable to complete an operation alone, and most of the time he was only responsible for some simple dressing and dressing changes for patients.

Second, the pain of choosing to further study is aggravated
Zhang Jinsheng still did not give up the idea of "treating diseases and saving people" at this time, and after knowing that he was not suitable for surgery, he chose to study internal medicine.
In 1992, he was admitted to Beijing Medical University, which had not yet merged with Peking University, and continued to study for a doctorate after completing his master's degree.
Although he successfully completed his Ph.D., his studies in internal medicine did not make Zhang Jinsheng feel fulfilled and satisfied, but the unknown future made him feel a lot of pressure. Zhang Jinsheng was shaken and doubtful in his heart that he chose the path of medicine, and the farther he went on the road of medicine, the more painful he became.

The inner torment eventually turned out to be bad. After his plans to study abroad were thwarted, Zhang Jinsheng noticed that his body was abnormal. Zhang Jinsheng once described himself at this stage as "a strange disease in the digestive tract". I can't put a little oil in my meals, and my head is sometimes sober and sometimes confused. Eventually, he was forced to apply for a leave of absence from Beijing Medical University (now Peking University Medical School).
Zhang Jinsheng's sudden change made everyone in the Zhang family anxious, and his parents, who were farmers, simply thought that Zhang Jinsheng was sick. Zhang Wenhua and his wife went to Beijing to take Zhang Jinsheng to the hospital for examination. The doctor at the hospital told the couple that Zhang Jinsheng was a little depressed. Zhang Jinsheng later returned to Changde with his second sister's family from Beijing to recuperate and lived in the second sister's house.
Zhang Jinsheng finally rested in his hometown for a long time, and the school's study and scientific research progress were completely shelved, which made it impossible for him to continue his doctoral studies. Because he was suspended for more than one year, the school dismissed him from school in accordance with regulations.

After recuperating for a period of time, Zhang Jinsheng went to Beijing again, but in 2002, Zhang Jinsheng's old illness recurred, and he had to return to Changde.
3. Live in a simple place and do not work
Even though he was dropped out of school, with his master's degree at that time, Zhang Jinsheng was still able to find a good job. A university in Shanghai and a company in Shenzhen threw an olive branch to him.
But these two jobs were both rejected by Zhang Jinsheng. He lost contact with Shanghai universities, and he hated and lost face with his job in Shenzhen, so he could only continue to live in his second sister's house without a job.

Zhang Jinsheng, who was in the countryside, discovered his hobby by accident - mathematics. He came across a differential geometry textbook by chance, and Zhang Jinsheng, who had not had much contact with mathematics, was unexpectedly self-taught, and he could understand all the knowledge in the book.
He began to collect all kinds of books about mathematics around him, and devoted himself to mathematics. He went back and forth to the bookstore and the library of the Hunan University of Arts and Sciences many times, reading all the books he could borrow, but some problems in mathematics always bothered him, and he decided to go to Beijing.
This time I went to Beijing to visit the mathematician Chern Shiing-shen, and Zhang Jinsheng hoped to discuss some mathematical problems with the master Chern face-to-face.
Zhang Jinsheng's second sister was very excited when she heard that her younger brother had a research direction again. His younger brother Zhang Jinsheng has not worked since he voluntarily returned to Changde, and Zhang Wenhua is very worried about his future life.

Zhang Wenhua runs a small shop in a local primary school, and her husband works there. In normal times, he needs to support his parents and take care of his younger brother. After learning that her younger brother was going to Beijing, she immediately took out 1,000 yuan to fund Zhang Jinsheng to go to Beijing, hoping that Zhang Jinsheng could develop in the industry he liked.
In 2012, Zhang Jinsheng went to Beijing in person. At this time, Mr. Chern was already old, and Zhang Jinsheng naturally did not see it. At this time, Zhang Jinsheng was reluctant to return home, so he could only continue to wander in Beijing, relying on the help of his sister and classmates to live. He had a very difficult life in Beijing, and three years later, Zhang Jinsheng, who had lived like a beggar, returned to his hometown of Changde.
This time, Zhang Jinsheng's second sister just had a grandson, and there is really no place for Zhang Jinsheng to live at home. Zhang Jinsheng moved into his eldest sister's house, he is usually only responsible for cutting vegetables and brushing, and he doesn't work during the day to find a place to wander.
When asked why he didn't look for a job, Zhang Jinsheng said that he had studied and did not work as a farmer. He also dislikes that doing odd jobs undermines his dignity. In desperation, his family applied for a semi-disabled nursing allowance for him, at least to ensure that he would not starve to death in the future.
Someone once asked Zhang Jinsheng if he regretted his choice, and he said that he took too many detours, "he doesn't like to take the straight road."
Zhang Jinsheng's experience can't help but feel a pity, and among the people in his same class, there are many leaders in various industries. He had a brilliant future, but in the end he was ordinary. He chose his life twice, but ultimately failed. Sometimes effort is important, but choice is even more important.
