In 1982, when filming "Old Things in Seongnam", Wu Yigong also wanted to contact Lin Haiyin in Taiwan to grant copyright, but because there was no cross-strait cultural exchange at that time, Wu Yigong could not contact Lin Haiyin, so he passed on the news through the media, hoping that lin Haiyin would be able to contact Wu Yiyin's Film Studio after seeing the news of the film shooting, and collect the manuscript fee.
In 1983, "Seongnam Old Things" was released, very hot, the reputation is also excellent, Shen Jie also became famous overnight with the role of "Yingzi", many viewers believe that Shen Jie is "the girl with the clearest eyes in Chinese films", and "Seongnam Old Things" also won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Feature Film at the 2nd Manila International Film Festival, and also won the Third Chinese Film Golden Rooster Awards for Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Music and many other awards.
The news of the success of "Seongnam Old Things" eventually reached Lin Haiyin's ears, and many of Lin Haiyin's friends who had seen this movie told her that Shen Jie was very similar to her, and Lin Haiyin was eager to meet Shen Jie. To this end, she tried every means to contact the studio. Fortunately, Lin Haiyin succeeded, she returned to the mainland, she met Shen Jie at the home of film performance artist Bai Yang, and the two became friends at first sight.

Participating in the filming of a co-production drama between Shanghai Television and Japan's NHK Television station made her feel the professionalism of the Japanese television production team, and she had the idea of going to Japan to study acting. It also happened that a Japanese professor liked "Seongnam Old Things" very much, and he took the initiative to contact Shen Jie and said that he could help her study in Japan. So after graduating from high school in 1992, 20-year-old Shen Jie went to Japan alone to study.
After arriving in Japan, Shen Jie began a life of half-work and half-study, originally she was very determined to learn acting, but because she often chatted with her lawyer friends, she found that law is a very attractive subject, so she changed her to law, and she studied law for 4 years.
What Shen Jie did not expect when studying in Japan was that Japanese TV stations broadcast "Seongnam Old Things" on a loop, and "Seongnam Old Things" had many fans in Japan. When her classmates learned that she was the "Hideko" in "Seongnam Old Story", she began to be invited to give lectures at some universities in Japan, mainly introducing Chinese culture. In college, she also worked as the host of a Chinese talk show at NHK.
After graduating from university, Shen Jie worked as a researcher at the research center of a Japanese film consortium, but she only did this job for one year, because she started a business, she founded a cultural company, the main business is to do cultural exchanges with the University of Tokyo.
It was also during this period that Lin Haiyin, who was worried about Shen Jie, also deliberately ran to Japan to see Shen Jie once, and the two also went to the hospital where Lin Haiyin was born to take a group photo. Shen Jie visited Lin Haiyin in Taiwan every year after graduating from university, until Lin Haiyin died of illness in 2001.
Also in the year of Lin Haiyin's death, Lin Haiyin's students sent a set of Lin Haiyin's novel collection to Shen Jie, Shen Jie carefully read this set of novels, so that her favorite is a novel called "Marriage Story", she wants to adapt this novel into a film and television work to commemorate Lin Haiyin.
Shen Jie did not have a fantasy, she said to do it, she and a company in Taiwan jointly invested in the TV series adapted from "Marriage Story", and finally the total investment of this TV series reached 5 million yuan, Shen Jie's company contributed half of it, and this TV series was starred and produced by Shen Jie.
After "Marriage Story" was broadcast in 2002, Shen Jie concentrated on becoming a producer, rarely appearing in front of the camera, and she became a behind-the-scenes worker in the film and television industry, becoming more and more low-key. Now 48 years old, she is the director of an artist at a domestic film and television company, living in Shanghai for many years, and has married and had children, with two lovely children.
