At 11:00 a.m., the atmosphere in the Wang Shuo Memorial Park of the Guangdong Provincial Occupational Disease Prevention and Control Institute was solemn and solemn, and the statue of the martyr Wang Shuo, the hero of the fight against the epidemic, was inaugurated here.
The Wang Shuo Memorial Park covers an area of 253 square meters, and in the center of the garden stands a bronze sculpture of the martyr Wang Shuo. The sculpture was designed and carved by Xu Hongfei, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, director of the China Artists Association and president of the Guangzhou Sculpture Institute. The base of the sculpture is 1.2 meters long, which means the birthday of the martyr Wang Shuo on January 2; the stone slab on the ground of the base is 3.6 meters wide, symbolizing the glorious and short 36-year life journey of the martyr Wang Shuo; the stone slab in the forecourt is 2.6 meters long, representing the 26 days and nights of the martyr Wang Shuo's fight against the epidemic in Jingzhou; the stone slab in the back courtyard is 3.13 meters long, which means that the martyr Wang Shuo died in the line of duty on March 13, 2020.
Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Wang Shuo has taken the initiative to fight the epidemic three times, rushed to the front line of the fight against the epidemic in Jingzhou, Hubei Province, responsible for circulation investigation and roving supervision, etc., and in less than two weeks, he has traveled to 8 counties and municipalities in Jingzhou, going deep into more than 200 units such as the CDC and designated hospitals, and doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Due to its outstanding achievements, Wang Shuo's team won the title of "Advanced Collective in the Prevention and Control of the New Crown Pneumonia Epidemic in the National Health System".
