One is a white-clad rogue who shuttles under the moonlight, one is a juvenile detective who chases the truth and abides by justice, two seemingly incompatible characters, but in the hands of each other again and again to leave each other with inseparable bonds, the words are all said, everyone should have guessed who these two characters are, yes, it is Kidd (Quick Fight) and Conan (Shinichi).
There is honestly too much to say about the emotional bond between them, and today we will use some of the content of the first theatrical version of "The Magician at the End of the Century" that they have cooperated to talk about Conan and Kidd in my personal impression.

Since we want to use some of the content of the theatrical version of "The Magician at the End of the Century", let's first understand this work. This is the third theatrical version, from 1999, very early, and now it seems that the picture is quite unfinished. Kidd made his first big-screen film here, set in transnational crimes, involving old romances and two easter eggs that have been passed down through the ages.
The plot of the whole work is clearly layered, the beginning of Kidd's gorgeous debut in the little third female protagonist's home, followed by Kidd's "stealing" egg performance, with Conan's pursuit battle and Pingji's motorcycle racing directly detonating the first round of climax.
In the second act, after Kidd is sniped by the murderer, he incarnates as the Shiratori Police Department to follow the protagonist group and enters the main plot of reasoning and solving the case, starting to collect clues and lay the plot.
The third act pushes the atmosphere to the second climax in the stage made of ornate castles: the suspense of the uncovered case, the wealth of memories of non-gold and non-silver, the battle of wits and courage with the murderer, the convergence of scattered clues, and finally, a series of events end in a raging flame, like the curtain ceremony of a classical concert, both enthusiastic and full of disillusionment and beautiful dramatic tension. And in the end, Kidd's exit, full of white pigeons, cleverly corresponds to the disguise of the White Bird Police Department and the opening scene of his "just a tired bird", echoing back and forth, one by one, the plot is flowing, without delay.
In addition to the bloody compactness of the plot rhythm, the whole movie almost depicts the kindness, desire, vanity, and innocence of people to the extreme, and there is no conan theater version of the anti-physics big scene that is often criticized by people, the reasoning is interlocked layer by layer, while the mechanism is slowly unraveled, while the truth gradually surfaces.

Next, let's return to today's theme content, to talk about some of the feelings and imaginations that Kidd and Conan brought to me in this work.
The first is Kidd, one of the protagonists, and his role in this drama is naturally the one who wants to steal easter eggs. The opening scene falls gorgeously on the balcony of Bumi's house, kisses Bumi's hand very gently, and calls her "Little Miss", followed by the use of various confusing tricks to successfully steal the Easter egg (of course, it is also recognized by Conan in time). The only thing that puzzled Conan was that the signature of Kidd's teaser was "Magician at the End of the Century", why this?
As the plot progresses, Conan discovers that the owner of the easter egg is known as the "magician of the end of the century". Kidd already knows the truth, and he steals the eggs only so that he can merge the two eggs into one and return them to the real owner of the eggs. Honestly, when I was a kid, Conan didn't really like Kidd, although he had a handsome white cape, gorgeous glider wings, and super high camouflage skills, but he was a thief, a thief who went around stealing treasures. And it was the first time I realized that Kidd wasn't just a thief, not just a thief, he was the embodiment of idealism.
As for the most classic setting description of another protagonist, Conan, is "looking like a child on the outside, but the wisdom is too ordinary", Conan has the appearance of a child, but the heart is mature and calm, so he can calmly solve the puzzle in various complex scenes. He is the decryptor.
But if we turn the image of Conan in reverse, a character who is a child on the inside and does have an adult appearance, isn't that Kidd, isn't he kidd? He is the magician of Silver Wing, with gliders, poker launchers, monocle glasses and other small tricks because of his inner innocence and sensibility, he can do such a thing as stealing with a sense of beauty and mystery as a magician. He is a maker of mysteries and surprises.
He has a heart for the good things in this world, so he will choose to steal the Easter eggs, just to return them to the real owner. There is a similar plot in Conan's TV anime "Kidd's Trap Box", where Kidd knows that the gem was a gift from his deceased master's family to his wife, and he did not steal the gem in his hand.
So when confronted with the Blue Wonder sapphire, Kidd thinks of the sky and the ocean, while Conan just talks about refractive scattering in a serious way, "What a dreamless person," Kidd commented. Suddenly, I thought of "The Little Prince," the little prince who cared for a rose. Kidd, who is also good and evil, and Kidd, who is also an enemy and friend of Conan, bump into each other and attack each other as the people behind them, and their enthusiasm is really exciting.

These are my personal impressions of Kidd and Conan, but in fact, if we think about it quietly, we will find that Conan and Kidd may be two silhouettes of our inner world, one rational and precise, the other mysterious and beautiful and full of innocence. Whether it is Conan or Kidd's image in the animation, it is originally no different from the new one, and no matter which silhouette is charming, it has always attracted us, and maybe this is what Tsuyoshi Aoyama wants us to discover.
