Jade carvings from Shanghai, mahogany carvings from Jiangsu, chicken blood stone carvings from Zhejiang, wood carvings from Anhui, and the ingenious crafts in the Shanghai world are a feast for the eyes. The 4th Yangtze River Delta Intangible Cultural Heritage Festival of Shanghai Great World 2021 is approaching, and the key activities in it have been opened ahead of schedule - the 2021 Yangtze River Delta Sculpture Master Exhibition will be on display until November 16.
This exhibition includes the practice and exploration of traditional handicrafts in the Yangtze River Delta Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Units, and also records the current situation and fruitful achievements of Chinese non-genetic inheritors in recent years. Master Yuan Yao, a national non-hereditary inheritor of Haipai jade carving, Master Sheng Yiyuan, a national non-hereditary inheritor of Yongkang Tin Carving, Master Wang Xuelong, a provincial inheritor of antique wood carving in Nanjing, and his daughter Wang Yi, a provincial non-hereditary heir of Huizhou Three Carvings (Wood Carving), Zhu Dashi, a provincial non-hereditary inheritor of Huizhou Three Carvings (Wood Carving), and Master Hu Qiusheng, a provincial non-hereditary inheritor of Anhui Sheyan, and nearly 20 famous masters, more than 10 kinds of top carving intangible cultural heritage skills from four places, presenting a distinct mark of the Chinese people forging ahead, reflecting the exquisite carving skills of the Yangtze River Delta and the profound historical roots and beautiful aura.
It is understood that this exhibition displays more than 70 masterpieces, and the exhibited works have a wide range of themes, including the Shanghai jade carving "Ancient Literature Guanzhi" derived from ancient classic allusions and famous paintings, the Huizhou wood carving "Lanting Yaji Wood Carving Incense Tube", the Nantong mahogany carving "Huguang Mountain Color Map", the auspicious chicken blood stone carving "Fulu Shou", the Shanghai micro-carving micro-carving "Baifu Baishou Map", the East China Sea crystal carving "Shangshan Ruoshui" of the natural all-in-one style, and the Shanghai Qingtian stone carving "Jinshan Xiushi". There are also works dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party, Yongkang Tin Sculpture "A Bouquet of Green Lotus", Yongkang Root Sculpture "Wind Rolling Red Flag Over the Pass"... A number of famous masterpieces show the aesthetic face of the traditional carving art in the Yangtze River Delta.
