The new era version of the red classic epic "Long March Group Song", as a "series of major activities in the series of Shangyin tributes to the centenary of the founding of the party", premiered at the Shangyin Opera House in mid-October this year, causing social concern, and has been performed many times so far, and the venue is full. "Long March Suite Song" premiered at the Beijing National Culture Palace on August 1, 1965, creating this red classic that will never fade, but due to historical reasons, this classic fell silent shortly after its premiere. Until 1975, in order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Central Red Army, the "Long March Suite" was rearranged again, and the Bayi Film Studio produced the stage art film "Long March Suite Song - Red Is Not Afraid of Expeditionary Difficulties", forming the 1975 edition of "Long March Suite Song", and the general score was published by the People's Music Publishing House in 1978.
Entering the period of reform and opening up, "Long March Suite Song" has been performed for a long time. There have been many versions such as the 1992 version and the 1995 version, in which the lyrics, orchestral music and even the performance style have changed.
In 2009, in order to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the People's Music Publishing House, with the attitude of faithfully returning to the original work and fully respecting the opinions of Comrade Wang Xinlan, the wife of the lyricist General Xiao Hua, was sorted out by Li Yuqiu, one of the composers of the "Long March Suite", and republished the general score of the "Long March Suite". In this version, the main part is restored to the original version of 1965, but the titles of the third and fourth songs and individual words are modified in 1975. This version, the family of the lyricist General Xiao Hua, once said, is the most in line with the author's creative intentions.
Liao Changyong, dean of Shangyin, said, "The 2009 renyin version of "Long March Suite" is the blueprint for us to rearrange and create a new era version of "Long March Suite". This is precisely out of respect for the original work, respect for the classics, but also respect for the wishes of General Xiao Hua and his family, when choosing the version, listened to the opinions of his family, did not move a sound, did not change a word. ”
When the new era version of "Long March Suite Song" premiered, Ms. Xiao Xia personally came to the scene to watch the performance, and afterwards the whole family specially wrote a letter to Shangyin to thank Shangyin for inheriting the red classics and carrying forward the spirit of the Red Army.
In 2021, the red classic "Long March Suite" will usher in the 56th anniversary of its premiere, and at the same time, the Communist Party of China will usher in the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
The new era version of "Long March Suite" will also start the Shanghai tour, the Yangtze River Delta tour, and the national tour of "Re-walking the Long March" during the student holidays, becoming part of the art practice course.
