Beijing, 11 Oct (China News Service) -- China's Supreme People's Procuratorate reported on 11 October that peng Bo, former deputy director of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Preventing and Handling Cult Problems, was suspected of accepting bribes, and the State Supervision Commission investigated and concluded the case, and was designated by the Supreme People's Procuratorate to examine and prosecute the case of the Wuxi Municipal People's Procuratorate in Jiangsu Province.

Recently, the Wuxi Municipal People's Procuratorate of Jiangsu Province has filed a public prosecution with the Intermediate People's Court of Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province.

The prosecution indicted and alleged that defendant Peng Bo took advantage of his position as deputy director of the Network News and Propaganda Bureau, director of the Network News Coordination Bureau, director of the Network News Emergency Affairs Bureau of the CPC Central Committee's Foreign Propaganda Office, full-time deputy director of the State Internet Information Office, and deputy director of the Office of the Central Leading Group for the Prevention and Handling of Cult Issues, as well as the convenience of the formation of his authority or position, to provide assistance to others in the operation of enterprises and control of negative information on the Internet, and illegally accepted property from others, the amount of which was particularly huge. They shall be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of accepting bribes in accordance with law.

According to public reports, Peng Bo was born in March 1957, a native of Hunan, and graduated from Peking University.

The website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission previously reported that Peng Bo was expelled from the party for serious violations of discipline and the law. He was accused of collapsing ideals and convictions, being disloyal to the party, deviating from the decision-making and deployment of the party Central Committee on waging a struggle against public opinion on the Internet, abandoning the management of the Internet front, using public instruments for private use, relying on the Internet to eat the Internet, resisting organizational censorship, and engaging in superstitious activities.
