On the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea 70 years ago, the volunteer soldiers often fought in bloody battles in the difficult environment of "a handful of fried noodles and a handful of snow."
At that time, although we had all kinds of food and other support materials prepared at home, it was not easy to send them to the front line under the indiscriminate bombardment of the US Air Force. In front-line combat, it is often not easy to make a fire and eat hot food. Under such conditions, fried noodles, a special food, became the most effective field ration for volunteer soldiers.

It should be noted that this kind of fried noodles is not the kind of fried noodles with vegetables and meat that everyone usually eats, but is made of salt and wheat flour, sorghum flour and so on. Under most conditions, the volunteer soldiers just chewed dryly and swallowed hard in the snow water, which was really not delicious.
Even this kind of food is difficult to supply in place many times, and long-term eating fried noodles has led to many soldiers who are undernourished and suffer from night blindness, which is ultimately alleviated by boiling pine needle water.
Therefore, every time the volunteer soldiers defeated the enemy army, in addition to capturing guns and ammunition, they were searching for the enemy's surplus food. Fighting in this environment can be imagined as difficult. It was not until the tunnel fortifications and steel transport lines of our army were completely formed during the wartime of the position that the support conditions of the front-line volunteers were fundamentally improved, and dumplings could even be eaten in the tunnels in the later stages of the war.
We often say that logistics is combat effectiveness, and one of the most important items in logistics support is to be able to eat, eat enough, and eat well! Or to sum it up: eating well is fighting power!
This sentence is not false at all; in the war years, the conditions in our army were harsh, and many of the better conditions for guaranteeing them were extravagant. But we assume that the warriors of that time could eat more and eat better, and the combat effectiveness displayed in battle would be stronger.
Decades have passed since that difficult era, and our national strength has gradually become stronger. In terms of guarantee conditions, it has gone up many floors.
In this winter, there are more soldiers of our border troops stationed in alpine and alpine areas than before, and in more than ten days it will be the New Year, and they will certainly stick to their posts.
Note: The pictures below are all from official reports
In the highland area at an altitude of 45,000 meters, and in winter, the minimum temperature can reach minus 30 or 40 degrees. Due to the need for combat readiness, many garrison areas do not have the same conditions as the permanent camp areas, and it is a must to let the soldiers wear warm clothes and eat well.
Some time ago, a batch of special cold equipment was issued to the hands of border guards on the front line of the plateau. The food for the soldiers to spend the winter and the daily necessities during the Spring Festival have also been stockpiled.
At present, the End of the Year is approaching, and a batch of festive special meals and food have also been made and transported to the hands of highland warriors thousands of miles away. It should be noted that this special meal is specially developed and transported on the basis of normal material reserves, in order to enrich the "dishes" of front-line soldiers and adjust the food during the festival.
Recently, CCTV Military, China Military Television Network, Learning Corps and other official media have made a brief introduction to the special meal food.
According to reports, the special festival meal food sent before this time is mainly used for the adjustment of the army's food for the field training festival, the need for combat expeditions, and the need to celebrate the merits.
Select the common dishes of the troops, distinguish between different regional flavors such as northern recipes, southern recipes, spicy recipes, etc., use high-quality ingredients such as whole fish, whole chicken and seafood, and each set recipe is 8 dishes, 2 rice and 1 soup, accompanied by nuts, freeze-dried fruits and other small snacks, meat and vegetarian collocation, balanced nutrition.
Because the food of this meal is more special, to put it more directly, it is the "New Year's Dinner" of the front-line border defense soldiers in the Spring Festival, so the dishes are also very hard.
Taking the special meeting meal "Southern Cuisine" as an example, these 8 hard dishes are:

In the video released by the official media, we can see that the production of special needs meal food is a standardized production method, using large-scale automatic cooking equipment and packaging assembly lines. In the production process, the dish production process is designed according to the skills of famous chefs, the proportion of raw materials is strictly controlled, and the introduction of high-temperature autoclaving, ultra-low temperature lyophilization technology and high barrier packaging materials are introduced, so that the nutritional composition, safety and taste of food are very good.
In addition, the use of this food is also very convenient, in accordance with the official announcement of the operation process.
Start by preparing the garnishing side dishes.
The dish packets are then heated in boiling water for a water bath.
Or steam in a steamer for 20 to 30 minutes, or heat for longer if it's on a plateau or in a cold zone.
When heated, remove the vegetable packets.
Then open the main course on a plate, add garnish packets, seasoning packets and garnishes, and a steaming "hard dish" is ready to serve.
Under normal circumstances, troops in the camp can eat freshly prepared hot food, but we also know that in the frontline areas, especially in the duty stations in the alpine areas of the plateau, not all garrison troops have such conditions.
The special meals we now serve on the front lines can be easily used, so that soldiers can also eat convenient "meals" while on duty.
The officers and men stationed on the plateau are not only faced with potential enemies, but also have to fight against the harsh natural environment, and they pay not only youth, but also health and life.
In the Kangsiwa Martyrs' Cemetery in Karakoram, there are many tombstones, all of whom died in various missions. When we think the years are quiet, they give their lives for our peace.
Today, more warriors are stationed at the top of the mountain, and they will spend the Spring Festival at the highest altitude on the earth and will continue to hold on. No matter how well you eat, it is worth and deserved, and even if you eat well, the blood and sweat of these warriors and the hardships they face are unimaginable to us.
As ordinary people, we may not be able to do anything else, but we can still pay tribute to these loveliest people! I hope they can know at the border that their efforts will always be paid attention to!
