Zhang Yizhu, a village doctor in Shashuiping Village, Xindian Town, Yuping Dong Autonomous County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, has been rooted in the mountain village for more than 20 years and guarded the health of the people in the mountain village.
Zhang Yizhu, 49, entered the health system after graduating from the health school in 1999 and took the initiative to apply to Shashuiping Village as a village doctor in 2000. When he first arrived in Shashuiping Village, there was no health room in the village, and Zhang Yizhu had to walk with a medicine box on his back every time he went to the clinic.
