"Passing the Three Lu Temple" is a five-word poem written by the Tang Dynasty poet Dai Shulun. The poem expresses compassion and sympathy for Qu Yuan. The whole poem traces the past and closely focuses on the word "complaint", the language is clear, the poetry is subtle, timeless and far-reaching, and it has won the praise of poetry critics of all generations.

Pass by the Temple of Sanlu

Tang Dynasty Dai Shulun

The flow of Yuanxiang is endless,

Qu Zi complained deeply.

The sun is twilight and autumn smoke rises,

Shaw Maple Grove.

Translation:

The Yuanjiang XiangJiang River flowed endlessly, and Qu Yuan's grief and indignation were as deep as water.

The twilight is vast, and the autumn wind suddenly rises on the river surface and blows into the maple forest, listening to the ears of Xiao Xiao.

exegesis:

Sanlu (lǘ) Temple: Qu Yuan Temple, named after Qu Yuan who served as the Master of Sanlu, is located in present-day Miluo County, Hunan.

Yuan (yuán) Xiang: refers to the Yuan River and the Xiang River, the Yuan River and the Xiang River are the two main rivers in Hunan.

Qu Zi complains deeply: Here, using a metaphor, Qu Zi refers to Qu Yuan, meaning that Qu Yuan's resentment is like the deep water of the Xiang River of the Yuan (Yuán) River.

Dai Shulun (732-789), poet of the Tang Dynasty, was a tang dynasty poet. Emperor Dezong (785-805) was a jinshi during the reign of Emperor Dezong. Born into a hermit family. When he was young, he studied under Xiao Yingshi, who was knowledgeable and strong, and his intelligence was outstanding. In the first year of the Great Calendar (766 AD), he served under Liu Yan of the Salt and Iron History, and later served as the Governor of Fuzhou, the Assassin history of Fuzhou, and the Guangxi Rongzhou Thorn History. During his tenure, he had outstanding political achievements. In the fifth year of zhenyuan (789 AD), the above table resigned from the official and went into hiding, and the guest died on the way back home. His poetry at the time was famous. His poems are rich in subject matter and diverse in genres. Nearly 300 poems exist today, and the Quan Tang Poems record two volumes of his poems.
