The calligraphy works of Hu Hanmin, one of the four major calligraphers of the Republic of China.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution. In order to inherit and carry forward the spirit of the Xinhai Revolution and gather the magnificent forces for realizing national rejuvenation, the theme exhibition commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, which was jointly sponsored by the China Calligraphy and Painting Collectors Association, the Tianhe District CPPCC Committee, the Propaganda Department of the TIANHE District CPC Committee, the United Front Work Department of the TIANHE District CPC Committee, and the Tianhe District Federation of Literature and Literature, the Tianhe District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, and Shengbao Investment Holdings (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., was exhibited at tianhe Art Garden on November 16.

The exhibition features 110 works, including the calligraphy work "Fraternity" donated by Dr. Sun Yat-sen to Mr. Chen Shaobai, a pioneer of the democratic revolution and an outstanding patriotic practitioner in 1920. The exhibition is free and open to the public until November 22.

Revolutionary pioneers also loved the art of calligraphy and painting

"It is urgent to save the people from water and fire, and to help the building will fall." The cannon of Wuchang City 110 years ago, with its thrilling power of the times, opened the floodgates of China's progress and explored the road for the development and progress of the Chinese nation. Sun Yat-sen, Zhang Xiao, Zhang Binglin, Gao Jianfu, Huang Yanpei, Cai Yuanpei, He Xiangning and a number of other famous pioneers emerged.

A total of 110 works are exhibited in this exhibition. In addition to the calligraphy works of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, there are also the inkblots of famous heroes and pioneers such as Zhang Jian, Zhang Binglin, Gao Jianfu, Huang Yanpei, Cai Yuanpei, He Xiangning and so on. Among the works on display, either express patriotic chest, or send affection to the motherland's landscape and humanities, seal, li, kai, line, grass, its magic is endless, each has its own style. This theme exhibition is not only an artistic interpretation of the great spirit of the pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution to revitalize China, but also a vivid practice of the organizers to study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the conference commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution. Hu Shuotang, curator of the exhibition, introduced that these revolutionary pioneers have superb achievements in traditional Chinese culture and are well versed in the way of Han mo Danqing. In the pursuit of national independence and progress, they still have a soft spot for the art of calligraphy and painting, and some have become masters of the art world, and some have become masters of the academic world. For example, Chen Shaobai, Gao Jianfu and others from Guangdong insisted on taking calligraphy and painting as a means of personal cultivation, advocating "eclectic Chinese and Western, integrating ancient and modern" in art, inheriting traditional Chinese culture, absorbing Western painting methods, creating a unique style of the Lingnan School of painting, and having a far-reaching impact on guangdong's culture and art.

"'Get on the horse to drive the revolutionary road, get off the horse and paint Danqing with blood' is the most vivid portrayal of these revolutionary pioneers. Looking back at the past road of struggle, looking forward to the road ahead, and basing ourselves on the new road of catching up with the examination, we need to give full play to the unique advantages and role of art. Wang Qin, chairman of the Tianhe District Federation of Literature and Literature, said that holding the exhibition of revolutionary pioneer inkblots in the Tianhe Art Garden is to show history through the art form of calligraphy and painting, take history as a mirror, unite the general public to uphold the legacy of the pioneers, forge ahead, unite their efforts, and work together for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The works on display are provided by private collectors

According to reports, the 110 works in the theme exhibition were provided by Guangzhou collector Lu Qiulian. For more than 20 years, Lu Qiulian has concentrated on collecting and studying the famous Han Mo of the Xinhai Revolution, and has collected hundreds of calligraphy works of the celebrities of the Xinhai Revolution.

Talking about the reasons for the collection, Lu Qiulian said that Guangdong has deep roots with the Xinhai Revolution, is the cradle and source of the Xinhai Revolution, and has an important position in the history of the Xinhai Revolution, and Guangzhou is an important place for the revolutionary forerunner of the revolution, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, to carry out revolutionary activities. Although many places in Guangdong have built various museums and memorial halls to commemorate the Xinhai Revolution, collecting and displaying various cultural relics and historical materials of the Xinhai Revolution, over the years, in the existing collections of public museums, there are still a large part of the calligraphy and painting works of the elders of the Xinhai Revolution that have not been included. This made Lu Qiulian feel very sorry.

"Although it has gone through a hundred years, the revolutionary spirit and heroic style embodied in the calligraphy are still very exciting." In Lu Qiulian's view, these masterpieces of the pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution not only interpret the great revolutionary ideas, but also contain the spirit of Lingnan culture of "pioneering the atmosphere" and "seeking eternal happiness for the people of the world", which have high collection value. Therefore, he began to collect the authentic calligraphy and painting works of celebrities of the Xinhai Revolution.

Due to the lack of ink from the pioneers of the Xinhai Revolution in the public museum system, Lu Qiulian's collection was favored by many exhibition organizers. In this regard, Lu Qiulian does not regard the collection as a private object, and often exhibits it to the public to give back to the society. Many of the 110 works exhibited in this exhibition have appeared in the theme exhibition of the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution held in Beijing.

"We hope that through this exhibition, we will remember the great achievements of the martyrs of the Xinhai Revolution, deepen everyone's understanding of the history of the Xinhai Revolution, never forget the original intention, continue to move forward, and strive for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." Lu Qiulian said that in Guangdong, the birthplace of the Xinhai Revolution, the historical memory of the Xinhai Revolution everywhere has long been integrated into one landmark after another, street signs, and into people's lives. They vividly and profoundly show people those magnificent years and carry the immortal revolutionary spirit.
