A new 196 wards, equipped with a smart ward system, will provide "one-stop" medical services for patients at home and abroad... On December 6, the new Building No. 2 of Huiqiao Building of Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University was officially opened. At the same time, the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Huiqiao Building of the Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University was held.
At the opening ceremony of the new building of Huiqiao Building, southern hospital of Southern Medical University signed a "strategic cooperation agreement" with the Hong Kong Western Medicine Union, signed the "National Trauma Regional Medical Center - Southern Trauma orthopedic Alliance Hong Kong and Macao Member Cooperation Agreement" with the Prince of Wales Hospital of the University of Chinese of Hong Kong and the General Hospital of Macau Ren, and signed the "Guangdong-Macao Operating Room Safety and Quality Alliance Cooperation Agreement" with Macau Jinghu Hospital and Guangdong Nurses Association.
Founded in 1979, Huiqiao Medical Center of Southern Hospital of Southern Medical University is one of the earliest, largest and most treated overseas patients in the country, integrating medical treatment, health management, health care and rehabilitation. Up to now, more than 130,000 patients from 91 countries and regions have been treated.

Open the door to foreign-related medical treatment
Since the 1980s, more and more people have begun to know Huiqiao Lou, and the main reason for huiqiao lou's fame is that it has taken the lead in treating Hong Kong and Macao compatriots and overseas Chinese compatriots in the country.
In October 1979, the Hong Kong and Macao Ward of Nanfang Hospital, the first medical department opened to the outside world in the history of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, was officially established and began to receive physical examination and treatment from Hong Kong and Macao compatriots; on January 14, 1980, the Hong Kong and Macao Ward established a new medical care unit with 26 beds, which was officially listed to receive physical examination and treatment of Hong Kong and Macao compatriots.
In 1982, the Hong Kong and Macao wards moved from the general ward to Huiqiao Building 1 (originally known as Huiqiao Building) with chinese classical style, and the number of beds was expanded to 100; in 1984, Huiqiao Building 2 was put into use, and the number of beds was expanded to 200; in 1989, Huiqiao Building 3 was completed, and the number of beds increased to 400, becoming the largest foreign-related medical center in China.
Chen Minsheng, secretary of the Party Committee of Southern Medical University, said that in the past 40 years, "Huiqiao Louren" has advanced in pioneering and built the Former Hong Kong and Macao Ward, which had only 26 beds, into a modern hotel-style medical institution integrating medical, health care and rehabilitation services, which plays a pivotal role in the development history of Southern Hospital and even Southern Medical University.

At the door of Huiqiao Building 1 stands a pair of Chinese watches, which read, "Gang jie Qilin descendants prosper, and plum blossoms in the garden are kangqiang." Huabiao's donor is Mr. Huang, an overseas Chinese from Indonesia.
In 1980, Mr. Huang, who was in his prime, was in his prime, but his career was in full swing, but he was plagued by blood in the stool. At the suggestion of a friend, Mr. Huang came to Huiqiao Building to seek medical treatment.
The medical team of Professor Zhou Dianyuan, a well-known gastroenterologist, confirmed that the disease suffered by Mr. Huang was not cancer, and in the follow-up treatment, Mr. Huang's illness was cured without surgery. This medical experience made Mr. Huang identify here, he came to Huiqiao Building every year to do health care, physical examination, and led many relatives and friends to come to health care, diagnosis and treatment.
Zhu Hong, secretary of the Party Committee of Nanfang Hospital, proudly said that in the 40 years since the establishment of Huiqiao Medical Center, there has never been a single medical accident.

Excellent traditions are passed down from generation to generation
In the past 40 years, the medical staff in Huiqiao Building have changed batch after batch, but the tradition of serving patients with true affection has been passed down from generation to generation.
Yang Lisheng, 73, is a "senior-level" doctor in Huiqiao Building. "There is true love in the Huiqiao Building", this is Yang Lisheng's true feeling. He recalled that in the 1980s and 1990s, many of the hospitalized patients in Huiqiao Building were overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese. They entrusted their health to doctors, bought real estate nearby, settled down, and took relatives and friends to live in Guangzhou, using Huiqiao Building as a second home. In 1990, a patient voluntarily donated a cheque of 500,000 yuan to help Huiqiao Lou establish the first gastroscopy department.
Wang Li, who entered Huiqiao Building in 1983, is now the head nurse of the third ward of Huiqiao Building. She always carried a small notebook in her pocket, which was densely filled with the patient's name, condition, medication, nursing precautions, etc. The nurses in Huiqiao Building all have such a small book. "The small book not only records the details of the care, but also records the preferences and special habits of each patient.
Nurse Liu Guoyan said that working in Huiqiao Building, you can't eat garlic and other smelly food, walk in a dignified posture, open and close the door lightly, knock on the door first, and say "Hello" after entering the door...

"A lot of the patients we receive here are patients with multiple diseases." Wang Hanjing is the first general practitioner in Huiqiao Building and has been working here since 2013. The following year, Huiqiao Medical Center set up a training base for general practitioners. Wu Jing, director of Huiqiao Medical Center, said that Huiqiao Lou is currently focusing on cultivating a team of high-end general practitioners with exquisite skills and high-quality services, and will create an international diagnosis and treatment model of "general practice + specialty".
Nowadays, the new Huiqiao Building 2 is officially opened, and Huiqiao Building will build an international diagnosis and treatment area, a famous doctor diagnosis and treatment area and a traditional Chinese medicine characteristic diagnosis and treatment area, providing one-stop high-quality medical services for patients at home and abroad.
