Han Xianchu was very grateful for Mr. Xu's concern, and replied that he would definitely follow Mr. Xu's instructions. On May 28, 1985, Han Xianchu came to visit Xu Xiangqian for the last time, and for more than a year, Han Xianchu did not come back.
He wanted to come, but he couldn't come, and his physical condition didn't allow it. On October 3, 1986, Han Xianchu passed away. The white-haired man sent the black-haired man, the big brother sent the little brother, Xu Xiangqian was very sad, and wrote a long eulogy with a pen.

Chen Xianrui was originally in the Red Fourth Front, the main force withdrew from Eyuwan, Chen Xianrui fell behind because of his wounds, and later joined the Red 25th Army that remained in the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Area to persist in the struggle.
In 1932, Chen Xianrui served as a squad leader in the Fourth Special Agent Brigade in Northeast Hubei, and there were two soldiers in the class, and later his achievements were above him, one was the founding general Liu Zhen, and the other was the founding general Han Xianchu. The 3 of them formed a deep fighting friendship.
In 1955, Chen Xianrui was a founding lieutenant general, and his rank was not han Xianchu and Liu Zhengao, but he was an old squad leader they respected very much. One class produced 3 founding generals, which is an immortal legend and a good story.

Chen Xianrui joined the Red Army at the age of 15 and worked as a correspondent in the main force of the Red Fourth Army. Once, the commander asked him to convey orders to the Red First Division, which was fighting on the front line, and asked them to withdraw. The commander of the Red First Division was Xu Xiangqian, the deputy commander.
On that day, it was raining heavily, the road was muddy, and it was three changes in the middle of the night, Chen Xianrui was struggling to walk, one foot deep and one foot shallow, one muddy and one body of water, it was difficult to find Xu Xiangqian, dictated the order, and handed him a letter.
Xu Qianqian read the letter, breathed a sigh of relief and said,
Little devil, if you come 10 minutes late, everything will be too late, and we just can't withdraw if we want to.
Chen Xianrui delayed for half an hour, and fortunately did not cause a catastrophe.
After returning home, the division commander wanted to shoot Chen Xianrui, miss the fighter, and behead him according to the law. No one dared to speak for Chen Xianrui, he was just a small correspondent, who would care? Just then Xu Xiangqian came, Xu Xiangqian was the deputy commander and division commander, and he said to Chen Xianrui's division commander,
It was right to enforce discipline, but after all, the troops had no losses, he was still a child, and he could get a little education.
Xu Xiangqian's words saved Chen Xianrui's life. Chen Xianrui has been grateful to Xu Xiangqian all his life. 55 years later, in 1985, Chen Xianrui went to visit Xu Xiangqian and once again expressed his gratitude for his life-saving grace. Xu Xiangqian smiled and said,
There were several times when there were such things, and the discipline of the Red Army was iron, but there were also differences in implementation, which varied from person to person, and if one life was saved, the revolution would have more strength.
Like Han Xianchu, after the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially in his later years, Chen Xianrui often visited Xu Xiangqian and was a frequent visitor to Xu Xiangqian's home. During the revolutionary war years, Chen Xianrui was called the "King of Southern Shaanxi" of the Red Army by Chairman Mao, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as deputy political commissar of the Chengdu Military Region and political commissar of the Beijing Military Region, and his achievements were not low.
In 1979, Chen Xianrui retired to the second line and served as an adviser to the Lanzhou Military Region. The commander of the Lanzhou Military Region at that time was None other than Han Xianchu. Two old comrades-in-arms gathered in the Lanzhou Military Region in their later years and fought side by side, which is really an endless story.

In 1981, Chen Xianrui completely retired and settled in Beijing. He is not yet 70 years old, physically and mentally good, and has developed habits of many years of work, and he can't stay idle and always wants to find something to do. Han Xianchu, who was also in Beijing, seemed to see through the old squad leader's heart and said to him,
I am not busy with my work now, and you have time to retire, can you find out the old comrades who are still alive in our Red 25 Army, and you will be specifically responsible for revising the history of the Red 25 Army.
Chen Xianrui immediately agreed.
The Red 25 Army War History Revision Committee was soon established, and many surviving veteran comrades Han Xianchu, Liu Zhen, Liu Huaqing, etc. were involved, and Chen Xianrui concurrently served as the director of the office. After more than 3 years, the revision of the war history was completed, and for various reasons, Han Xianchu proposed that it should not be published publicly, but only as an internal copy and distributed to the relevant old comrades and libraries.

Xu Xiangqian could not wear a military uniform at home, Liu Huaqing was in a military position, and came to visit the old chief, of course, he had to wear a military uniform. Both Han Xianchu and Chen Xianrui were no longer in the military, so neither wore military uniforms.
Why is this group photo precious? In addition to the old marshal Xu Xiangqian, the other 3 are all from the Red 25 Army led by Xu Haidong, all of whom are veterans of the Red 25 Army. Liu Huaqing was the youngest, and his later achievements were the greatest.
Liu Huaqing is a native of Dawu, Hubei Province, who joined the Red Army at the age of 15. His experience was very similar to Chen Xianrui's, originally the main force of the Red Fourth Front, after the main force withdrew, they were all left behind due to injuries, and later they were all incorporated into the Red 25Th Army.
The difference was that Han Xianchu and Chen Xianrui both led troops to fight on the front line, while Liu Huaqing remained in the rear organs as section chiefs, responsible for organizing confidential work. On the road of the Red 25th Army's Long March, when the war started, there was no distinction between the front line and the rear.
In the bloody battle of Dushu Town, Liu Huaqing rushed up with a gun, only to be shot in his left ankle and fell. Wounded this time, the troops almost left him behind. When the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Brigadier Chen Geng of the 386th Brigade named Liu Huaqing as the leader of the cadre brigade and political commissar.
By September, Liu Huaqing was transferred to the director of the secretariat of the 129th Division, and from then on he worked at the side of Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping, and during the Liberation War, Liu Huaqing served as the brigade political commissar of the second column led by Chen Zaidao.
In 1982, Liu Huaqing served as the commander of the Navy, the third naval commander of New China after Admiral Xiao Jinguang and Admiral Ye Fei. In 1989, Liu Huaqing served as vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and in 1992 he was elected to the Politburo Standing Committee. In 1987, Han Xianchu was no longer there, and Liu Huaqing entered the work of the Central Military Commission, proposing to make substantial revisions to the second draft of the Red 25 Army's war history and publish it publicly, still under the specific responsibility of Chen Xianrui.
With the joint efforts of everyone, this new war history was finally published. Chen Xianrui asked the old marshal Xu Xiangqian to personally write the preface. Xu Xiangqian said in the preface that I have a close historical relationship with the Red 25th Army, and the depth of my feelings is extraordinary. This is not only because I have personally participated in the formation and command of this unit, but also because I am very familiar with the leading members of this unit.
