In 1988, Gong Hanlin took Tang Jiezhong as his teacher, and since then, Tang Jiezhong has always encouraged Gong Hanlin to come to Beijing and has been looking for various opportunities for him.

Among Tang Jiezhong's apprentices is Hong Kong actor Xu Jinjiang, who has been remembered by many to have made many tertiary films.
Some people say that in 2009, he worshiped Tang Jiezhong as a teacher, but he fulfilled Xu Jinjiang's wish for 10 years.
Hearing the bad news of Master's death, on June 19, Xu Jinjiang tweeted: "Master, have you really left me?" As your disciple, I have done too little compared to your efforts. ”
In 2015, Xu Jinjiang opened a painting exhibition in Beijing, and Tang Jiezhong went to the scene to support the apprentices. This is also the last time Tang Jiezhong appears in front of the media camera.
"Crosstalk is extremely ironic and sarcastic"
Tang Jiezhong first praised Ma Ji, and later for Ma Ji's apprentice Jiang Kun. There is a saying in the cross-talk circle that "three points are funny and seven points are praised", but the audience often remembers the funny.
Tang Jiezhong spent most of his time in a position of praise, but he said that he had never felt uncomfortable in his heart. He still remembers the words of Master Liu Baorui: "Teasing is a family, teasing is 'a vegetable', without praise, there is no teasing, it is impossible to become a program."
Do the praise, the temper is often rounded, can not steal the limelight of teasing. Tang Jiezhong seemed to be such a person, so that his wife at first felt that he was not talking about the material of crosstalk, "I love to sweat, and I don't like to talk very much."
Tang Jiezhong also designed a polite image for himself, wearing a pair of glasses without lenses.
Tang Jiezhong gave Jiang Kun a brilliant performance, and successively performed "Tiger's Mouth Reverie", "Elevator Storm", "Learning to Sing", "Anxious", "Extra Big News" and other cross-talk on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala stage.
