Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

In September 1945, more than a month after Japan officially announced its unconditional surrender, Chongqing's dignitaries and dignitaries rushed to the Japanese-occupied areas to carry out the great cause of "robbery and harvesting.", and some of the cars and horses in the capital were deserted for a while.

Later this month, the American Colonel's Guest House in Chongqing suddenly received a long-distance call from Dai Kasa from Shanghai: Clean the buildings of the guest house, arrange the furniture as well as possible, transfer a platoon of soldiers and a squad of plainclothes guards to guard the perimeter, and the cooks and servants will also be properly arranged.

Hanging up the phone, the military command agent who accepted the order could not help but mutter, the battle is so big, it seems that there is another distinguished guest who wants to live in. However, after thinking about it, he shook his head again, he could be arranged to live in this place, and his status was expensive, but he would certainly not be a guest.

Mention of "American Colonel-level Officers' Guest House" may not have been heard, but if you mention its other name, "White Mansion", everyone will definitely be thunderous. Originally a detention center, it was later converted into a guest house for U.S. officers of the "Sino-American Research Institute," and as the War of Resistance came to an end, it gradually became a detention center for political prisoners. Before that, the residents of the White Mansion were General Ye Ting, and then There were General Yang Hucheng, Jiang Jie and others.

The next morning, Dai Ka took the guests to land at Chongqing Jiulongpo Airport.

The reason for choosing this airport is also exquisite. At that time, there were several airports in Chongqing, the most commonly used were Baishiyi Airport, Jiulongpo Airport, and Coral Dam Airport; among them, Baishiyi Airport was requisitioned by the US military and has not yet been returned; Dai Kasa's special plane usually likes to stop at Coral Dam Airport located in the urban area, but this time it is unusual, the reason is nothing more than the lack of personnel and strict security at Jiulongpo Airport.

Dai Kasa wanted to keep a low profile, or not want outsiders to know who he was with now.

The mystery was soon revealed. The plane landed, the hatch opened, and the guest at the head was the third figure of the Wang puppet government, the traitor Zhou Fohai.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

People who are familiar with the history of our party are certainly no strangers to Zhou Fohai. Zhou Fohai was one of the earliest members of our party, and he also participated in the congress, and was the only representative of Ichiri who returned from Japan to participate in the meeting.

But after that, he gradually drifted away from our party, because he suddenly became a school bully.

Zhou Fohai is a student studying in Japan, and first studied at Kagoshima No. 7 High School. In the chain of contempt for international students in the Republic of China, those who remain in Europe despise staying in the United States, and those who stay in the United States despise staying in Japan. Moreover, the Kagoshima No. 7 High School where Zhou Fohai studied was not a top school in Japan, and the gold content was comparable to the Zhenwu School where Lao Jiang attended.

It was also during this period that Zhou Fohai came into contact with communism in Japan, became a communist group of student organizations in Japan, and was eventually sent to China as a representative to attend a congress.

After this, the soul of the scholar in Zhou Fohai's body began to burn, and he was admitted to Kyoto Imperial University in Tokyo. The school is still a ticket to high society in Japan today, let alone at the time. Therefore, Zhou Fohai, who suddenly had a bright future, was no longer enthusiastic about party activities, and over time, he applied to the organization to leave the party.

In 1924, Zhou Fohai, who had returned from his studies, was favored by Dai Jitao, then the propaganda director of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and became Dai's secretary, and from then on joined the Kuomintang. Dai Jitao was also born in Japan, had a close relationship with Chiang Kai-shek, and had a friendship with each other to support his wife and son, and with Dai Jitao's big tree, Zhou Fohai began to make steady progress in the National Government.

By the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhou Fohai had already risen to the rank of executive member of the Kuomintang Central Committee and director of propaganda, which can be said to be a high-powered position.

But at this time, Zhou Fohai developed a negative and pessimistic mood about the prospects of the war. He was born as a student in Japan, received a Japanese education, and all he heard was the illusion of the japanese army's strength and invincibility. Especially at the beginning of the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, due to the huge difference in national strength between the two countries, we were forced to carry out strategic defense and exchange space for time, which made us feel that the prospects were not good.

Since it could not be defeated, it could only be sheltered by the Japanese. In this way, Zhou Fohai came together with Wang Jingwei, who had the same thoughts. In December 1938, the two flew from Chongqing via Kunming to Hanoi, Vietnam, and openly surrendered to the enemy.

In fact, before the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Zhou Fohai and Wang Jingwei were not closely related, and even belonged to different factions. Wang Jingwei belonged to the reorganization faction within the Kuomintang, while Zhou Fohai was considered to be the "CC system" by the world.

Later, many people within the Wang puppet government also attacked Zhou Fohai as an undercover agent sent by the "CC system", because the faction in which the two were located not only had no origin, but hated each other anyway.

Because for Zhou Fohai's behavior of following Wang Jingwei to surrender to Japan, it cannot be said that he is Wang's henchman, but can only say that Zhou Fohai is indeed very "Jingri".

As the third figure of the Wang puppet regime (the actual power is the second), after the victory of the War of Resistance, he should be liquidated as a traitor, why would Dai Kasa transfer him to the rear, even under house arrest, and give him such a high treatment?

This has to start from before.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

two, the first mouse at both ends

According to Zhou Fohai, when Wang Jingwei left Chongqing, he wrote a long letter to Chiang Kai-shek, which was delivered to Chiang Kai-shek after he arrived in Vietnam. In the letter, Wang Jingwei analyzed the current international and domestic situation to Chiang Kai-shek and said that he had no choice but to leave. He also stressed to Chiang Kai-shek that now that most of the country's territory has been lost and the elite area has been lost, it is difficult to support it by relying solely on a few provinces in the rear, so it is better to save the country by separate routes, so that Chiang Kai-shek, as the leader of the country, can shoulder the heavy responsibility of the War of Resistance, while he himself saves the country from within the enemy. At the end, he also asked Chiang Kai-shek for forgiveness.

Wang Jingwei was betting on both ends, and while being a traitor, he wanted to leave a good fortune in front of Chiang Kai-shek. As for whether Chiang Kai-shek understood him, judging from the fact that old Chiang Kai-shek dug his grave after the victory of the War of Resistance, I am afraid that there was none.

But why didn't Old Jiang himself bet on both sides?

In 1940, Chiang Kai-shek gave Tang Shengming a task to his face, asking him to go to Nanjing and Shanghai to carry out activities under the banner of attracting traitors. On the surface, this is a so-called strategy to save the nation from peril and defeat the Japanese army, but in fact everyone understands it.

Tang Shengming is a playboy with a wide range of contacts, including the Wang puppet government, many traitors have a good relationship with him, but he is not a secret agent, secret lurking is impossible, the so-called activities can only be of an open nature. At that time, Nanjing and Shanghai were enemy-occupied areas, so what methods could a Kuomintang official use to openly operate in the enemy-occupied areas? To sum it up in one sentence, this is called being a traitor.

Under the eyes of the enemy, it is actually equivalent to being a microphone, and the two sides can communicate with each other when they are not suitable for direct contact.

Not long after Tang Shengming arrived in Nanjing, he began to communicate with Zhou Fohai.

Zhou Fohai has a large number of official titles in the Wang puppet government, and I will not list them here, in short, he is in charge of both finances and police and secret agents, which is much higher than when he was in Chongqing, whether it was financial or powerful.

But after the outbreak of the Pacific War, the Japanese army began to rise to the left and the right. The so-called Spring River Plumbing Duck Prophet, the fatigue exposed by the Japanese army as a traitor Zhou Fohai was the first to feel. He was accustomed to meeting the wind and steering the rudder, knowing that the Japanese were dying, and began to move towards Qin and Chu again, thus making contact with the Chongqing side again.

Zhou Fohai, as the third figure in the Wang puppet regime, weighs enough, and the Chongqing side also hopes to develop such a heavyweight figure within the Wang puppet government. So Lang had a concubine intention, and the two sides began to raise eyebrows, and Dai Kasa and Zhou Fohai were once brothers.

At first, Zhou Fohai went out to Vietnam and only took his wife, leaving his mother and father-in-law in Chongqing, and later the Chongqing side imprisoned his mother and father-in-law in the Concentration Camp. Since the two sides came into contact, Dai Kasa often sent his subordinates to visit and treat the two preferentially, and the money sent by Zhou Fohai from Shanghai could be delivered smoothly.

Even after zhou Fohai's mother died, Dai Kasa personally went to the spirit to replace Zhou Fohai as a filial piety mourner.

And Zhou Fohai also repaid Li with a peach and successfully helped chongqing get rid of Li Shiqun, the leader of No. 76.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

third, unload and kill donkeys

By 1945, the defeat of the Japanese army was irreversible, and it was only a matter of time before the surrender, but at this time, the situation in Chongqing was extremely unfavorable. Because there are New Fourth Army activities in southern Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu, while the Nationalist army is far behind, from a spatial point of view, even if the hands of Chongqing are long, they cannot reach the fruits of victory.

At this time, Old Jiang couldn't take care of his face. So overnight, Zhou Fohai, the third figure in the original Wang puppet government, became the commander-in-chief of the Shanghai operation of the Military Commission of the National Government.

He had only one task, to mobilize his own forces, to deploy control and fortification in the southeast region, and to strictly prohibit the New Fourth Army from moving closer to Nanjing and Shanghai. Zhou Fohaisheng was afraid that he would not be able to complete the task, because only about 3,000 people were directly under his control. On the one hand, he asked the Shanghai Japanese Army Headquarters to send troops to assist and organize the New Fourth Army to enter Shanghai, and on the other hand, he asked Tang Shengming to lead troops to maintain law and order in the city.

With the full cooperation of Zhou Fohai, Lao Jiang successfully achieved the goal of seizing Nanjing and Shanghai. At the beginning of the restoration, Zhou Fohai also became a guest of honor in Chongqing, running around to help accept the property of the Japanese traitors.

But although Chiang Kai-shek spared Zhou Fohai, public opinion did not. When the news came out that zhou Fohai, a traitor of the big han, had become an important member of the party and the state, for a while the discussion of things boiled over, and the common people strongly demanded that this big traitor be disposed of. In the face of the surging rumors outside, Chiang Kai-shek did not want to die to protect Zhou Fohai, but he could not kill him immediately, which would chill the hearts of some people.

So I decided to treat it cold, and first find a far away place to close it. This is also the reason why Dai Kasa secretly took Zhou Fohai to Chongqing, afraid that others would find out.

Zhou Fohai was not a fool, he knew that he was like a foot cloth, discarded. This time I came to Chongqing, called Shelter from the Wind, but I was actually under house arrest. But he couldn't do anything about it, after all, people were under the roof.

Dai Kasa is still interesting enough, did not directly tear his face, and specially explained that his subordinates should try to meet the needs of "guests", Zhou Fohai ate and wore everything in the white mansion, except freedom.

Until Dai Kasa was killed.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

The news of Dai Kasa's death was what Zhou Fohai himself saw in the newspaper, after all, at that time, the military command was busy fighting for power and profit, but no one had the spare time to tell him.

At the moment when he first saw it, Zhou Fohai was stunned and half-dazed, and suddenly burst into tears, crying while saying, "Everything is over, everything is over." "I couldn't even eat all day. When he was in the Wang puppet government, he mainly contacted the Chongqing side through Dai Kasa, and Dai Kasa was equivalent to a bond, not to mention, Dai Kasa also had an incense love with him, and he changed others, who cares about you. Now that Dai Kasa has passed away, the good days are probably over.

As he expected, after Dai Kasa's death, Zheng Jiemin became the director of the military command and Mao Renfeng became the deputy director. The two of them had no contact with Zhou Fohai before, let alone take care of him, and everything was official.

In Chongqing, they were given preferential treatment for a year, and in late September 1946, Zhou Fohai and others were transferred to Nanjing, and they were actually admitted to the detention center.

On October 21, 1946, the Nanjing Capital High Court held a hearing on Zhou Fohai's case. The court indicted Zhou Fohai on the charges of "conspiring against the enemy country and attempting to rebel against the country."

Immersed in the official field of the Republic of China for half a lifetime, Zhou Fohai is too aware of the doorway inside, although it is a court, but if you really talk to the judge about the law, then you will lose. If you want to mitigate the punishment, you have to have someone above to protect him, but now that Dai Kasa is dead, who will risk getting wet to protect him?

Zhou Fohai had no choice but to stir things up in court, and he changed the indictment to "conspiring with the enemy country and trying to benefit the country," and later changed it to "conspiring with the enemy country and plotting to disadvantage the enemy country." In front of everyone, he gave examples of his close contacts with Dai Kasa, Jiang Bocheng (Chiang Kai-shek's secret representative to Shanghai during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression), Wu Kaixian, and others, and later how to do things according to the instructions of the Chongqing side.

Although his statement received applause from the audience, the court still found him guilty and announced a date for sentencing.

When it was time to pronounce the verdict, this time the court learned its lesson and did not let unrelated people wait to observe. Because the price of Shanghai in the Japanese and pseudo-Japanese periods he listed in his last statement was even cheaper than it is now, this resonated with many people in the audience. Because after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the members of the Party-State Completely regarded Nanjing, the capital, as an enemy country, and when they raised money, they did not care at all about the feelings of their compatriots, resulting in prices soaring, so that many ordinary people had the feeling that it was not as good as the Japanese and pseudo-japanese periods.

In this trial, Zhou Fohai was sentenced to death, and it is said that the reason for his death sentence was also his indiscriminate speech.

Now that the final judgment has been reached, according to normal procedures, Zhou Fohai should quietly experience the countdown to life, waiting for the day of execution, there is no room for turning.

Just a few months later, Chiang Kai-shek issued an amnesty decree in the name of the chairman of the Nationalist government, saying that Zhou Fohai voluntarily surrendered himself several times after 1941, although the government did not explicitly accept it at that time. However, on August 19, 1945, the Japanese military command forwarded his letter of acceptance, saying that he was ready to take practical actions to ensure order in the Beijing-Shanghai area.

In the end, Zhou Fohai was commuted from death to life imprisonment.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

5, money can be psychic

Zhou Fohai was the first traitor to receive amnesty, and there were obvious contradictions in the amnesty order, so there was more criticism.

For example, the pardon decree states that "he has repeatedly petitioned to surrender himself, although he has not expressly allowed it". Zhou Fohai was in the Japanese-occupied area at that time, in Shanghai, and could only contact secretly, how could he "explicitly order permission"? There is also "August 19, 1945, the Japanese army continued to be transferred, the criminal prepared a factual performance...", the Japanese government announced the unconditional surrender on August 15, how could Zhou Fohai not have a factual performance after 4 days of Japan's surrender? Can the factual performance after surrender be called anyway?

Regarding the amnesty of Zhou Fohai, there are many opinions in the city, but without exception, everyone said that "money can understand the gods."

Later, after liberation, the truth of this matter was revealed.

Before and after Zhou Fohai's trial, his wife Yang Shuhui had been moving around and wanted to reduce Zhou Fohai's sentence, but he ran into walls everywhere, either without finding the right person or looking for someone he was not at ease.

Later, a businessman surnamed Wu approached Yang Shuhui and said that after Dai's death, the Military Command Bureau was headed by Zheng Jiemin, and only through Zheng Jiemin could you save your husband. If you want to pass Zheng Jiemin, you have to pass the pass of Mrs. Zheng Jiemin first.

Zheng Jiemin himself did not accept money, only through his wife, which was already an open secret in the official arena at that time. Moreover, this merchant surnamed Wu often did business with Mrs. Zheng Jiemin, and in today's terms, it was Lady Zheng's white glove, so Yang Shuhui believed him.

The businessman surnamed Wu opened his mouth and asked for 500 gold bars (5,000 taels of gold), Yang Shuhui was from a merchant family, would he not know the reason for sitting on the ground to pay back the money? She said that the total wealth was less than one-tenth, and finally after some bargaining, it was agreed that 150 gold bars would be agreed to a deal.

But as a result, Zhou Fohai was still sentenced to death, and Yang Shuhui did not do it, where there was a reason to take money and not do things, so he went to Zheng Jiemin's house to make trouble. It is said that Mao Renfeng also took Yang Shuhui to see Chiang Kai-shek, because Mao Renfeng had always coveted the position of director of Zheng Jiemin and wanted to give Zheng Jiemin eye drops.

The end result was a hasty amnesty order that was full of loopholes.

Before dying, he demanded: Bury the first under the flag of the state, Zhou Fohai and his people two, the first rat at both ends of the three, the unloading and killing of donkeys, the fifth to accept the trial, and the end of qianneng

< h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="83" > the end

At this time, Zhou Fohai's body was no longer good, and anyone who fell into this step would not be in good health. More than a year ago, he was still a big man who called the wind and rain, and as a result, the times changed easily, he became a prisoner of the order, and he luckily escaped death, but his freedom was far away.

When Zhou Fohai was seriously ill, the military commander sent people to visit. He told the people in the military command that although he had done something to apologize to the people and the country, he had done everything he could to the chairman of the committee and Mr. Dai. And with tearful eyes, he made a request: if he died, he hoped to put a red flag on his corpse, so that he would be infinitely comforted.

Of course, his request was called absurd by Mao Renfeng and strictly rejected.

On February 28, 1948, Zhou Fohai died of illness in prison, and only one deceased person buried him after his death.
