What is even more beautiful is that He Zhizhang immersed himself in learning taoism, and Xuanzong built a Taoist temple for him to live in, named "Qianqiu Temple", when He Zhizhang left Beijing, "the emperor gave poetry, the crown prince, and the hundred officials practiced it", Xuanzong set up a wine banquet for He Zhizhang in Changlepo, the participants wrote poems to give farewell, assembled into volumes, Xuanzong wrote a preface, and passed it on as a good story in the literary world, which was no less grand at that time than the Lanting assembly:

Shortly after returning to his hometown, He Zhizhang fell ill and died at the age of 86. Perhaps in that era when talent was never scarce, the poet's madness was a reasonable existence, but He Zhizhang's madness was more relaxed.
His madness is informal, indulgent and heroic.

His madness was the respect of Xuanzong's poetry and the send-off of hundreds of officials.
He was crazy with scale, worked as a peace official for decades, was loyal to his duties, did not slacken off, and the well-known "Qi Wang Banglang" incident also made him "crazy" more three-dimensional.
He is crazy and measured, he has no shelf, he does not recommend Li Bai, Li Mi and other people in a meticulous manner, and he and Meng Haoran, Du Fu and other descendants can get along with each other leisurely, which can be described as a clean talk.
He Zhizhang's life knows better what is the measure, he is not informal, but secretly has a degree. He liked to travel, from the secretary of state to the people; he drank, talked about poetry, participated in Zen and the Tao, and did not involve politics, did not seek profits, and did not form cliques. He promoted backward advances, was good at understanding talents, and also made friends with Wang Changling, Yan Tingzhi, Li Yong, and Yan Zhenqing's father, Yan Weizhen.
If we take the modern standard, He Zhizhang is a typical sound personality, good IQ and emotional intelligence, mental health, and upbringing, so it is rated by the people of the time as: graceful and provincial, high-minded and open-minded.
