Wang Xudong is a native of Xiajin County, Shandong Province, and was born in February 1952 in Handan, Hebei Province. He is now a senior research librarian and professional calligrapher and painter at the Handan Workers' Cultural Palace. Member of China Calligraphers Association, Director of China Hard Pen Book Association, Deputy Director of China Hard Pen Book Association Writing Committee, Vice President of China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, Director of China Federation of Literature and Painting Art Exchange Center, Consultant of China Yanhuang Calligraphy and Painting Association, Director of China-Korea Calligraphy and Painting Association, State (Bin) Special Artist of China Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Center of the State Council, Member of Calligraphy Education Research Association of China Education Society, Vice President of China Hehe Painting Academy, Executive Director of Hebei Provincial People's Congress Cultural Development Promotion Association, Vice Chairman of Hebei Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, Chairman of Handan Hard Pen Book Association. He is the 1st-4th director of Hebei Calligraphers Association, a member of the 5th Presidium, the honorary chairman of Handan Calligraphers Association, the president of Zhao Du Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute, a professor of Shandong Provincial Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, and a visiting professor of Henan Zhongyuan Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
Since 1977, he has been professionally engaged in calligraphy and painting work, and his calligraphy works have participated in various large-scale calligraphy and painting exhibitions at home and abroad for nearly 100 times and won awards, won the title of "Baijie Calligrapher" in 1999 by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and in 2002, he was awarded the "Advanced Individual of Culture and Science and Technology Three Visits to the Countryside" by the Propaganda Department of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China. In the same year, he was awarded the title of "Advanced Worker of Hebei Provincial Society" by the Civil Affairs Department of Hebei Province. In 2006, he was awarded the honorary title of "Public Welfare Ambassador" by the China Charity Federation and the China Charity Engineering Committee. And won the Hebei Provincial Department of Culture Calligraphy Yan Zhao Qunxing Gold Award. His works have been exhibited and collected in Japan, France, the United States, Russia, the Philippines and other countries. Since 1983, he was entrusted by the Handan Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature to establish the Municipal Book Association, served as the vice chairman and secretary general of the Municipal Book Association for four terms for 27 years, planned and organized more than 50 large-scale calligraphy and painting activities in the city and across provinces and cities, held nearly 100 calligraphy and painting classes of various types, cultivated and fostered a large number of calligraphy and painting artistic talents for the city, and held Wang Xudong's personal calligraphy exhibition at the Handan Museum in 2004.
His works and biographies have been included in the compilation of "99 - Collection of Chinese Hundred Masters of Calligraphy and Painting", "Dictionary of Chinese Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters", "Who's Who in the World", "Biography of Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters", and more than 40 dictionaries and calligraphy collections, and have successively edited: "Wang Xudong Calligraphy Works Collection" (published by Lingnan Fine Arts Publishing House), "Handan Ten Calligraphy Works Collection", "Handan Yushu Heart-to-Heart Calligraphy and Painting Competition Collection", "Handan Calligraphers Association 25 Years of Establishment Of Member Works", etc., and his works are common in Baidu Wang Xudong Calligraphy Art, People's Network, Meixun Network, calligraphy and painting Tianxia Net, Xianyi Net, Wang Xudong calligraphy appreciation. In July 2013, entrusted by the Provincial Hard Pen Book Association and supported by the Municipal Federation of Social Sciences, the Handan Hard Pen Calligraphers Association was organized to actively promote calligraphy education and personally teach the first batch of calligraphy students of Hebei Handan Art High School to the university. In the past eight years, the Handan Hard Pen Book Association has become a very influential artistic team inside and outside the province. In October 2015, Comrade Wang Xudong was awarded the honorary certificate of "Advanced Individual in National Social Science Work" issued by the Presidium of the National Conference on Social Science and Technology in Large and Medium-sized Cities. In 2020, he organized the Handan Hard Pen Book Association to successfully host the 8th Hard Pen Calligraphy Exhibition in Hebei Province, and won the "Outstanding Contributor Figure" of the Hebei Hard Pen Book Association.
