International Online News: Former Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen was convicted of misconduct by public officials. Donald Tsang, 72, was Hong Kong's chief executive from 2005 to 2012.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region period

In July 1997, he was appointed as the first Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

In May 2001, he was appointed Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

In July 2002, he was appointed Chief Secretary for Administration of the Second Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

On 12 March 2005, he became acting Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in his capacity as Chief Secretary for Administration.

In June 2005, he was elected in the second by-election for the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and was appointed by the State Council for a term of office until 30 June 2007.

He was elected in the election of the third Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 25 March 2007.

On 2 April 2007, the State Council appointed Tsang Yam-kuen as chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

On 1 July 2007, he was officially inaugurated as the third Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. (Term of office until 30 June 2012)

In February 2012, Tsang Yam-kuen was formally investigated by the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong for accepting hospitality from the super-rich, becoming the first chief executive in Hong Kong history to be investigated by the Independent Commission Against Corruption for corruption

On 28 February 2012, Tsang yam-kuen was impeached by the Hong Kong Legislative Council, becoming the first incumbent chief executive in Hong Kong's history to be impeached by the Legislative Council, because Donald Tsang rented Wong Chu Biao's property but failed to declare it when the Executive Council approved the digital broadcasting licence, which involved a conflict of interest and was a serious dereliction of duty.

He stepped down on July 1, 2012.
