Shandong Rizhao Beach Bird Watching Notes: Colorful Sandpipers and Plovers

On Saturday morning, we drove to Rizhao, Shandong Province, with the bird watching teacher we had agreed to make the night before, for a small group of Chinese crested terns heading north. Standing on the slopes of the high coast looking at the coast, after the low tide, the sea surface reveals a small tidal flat, gradually the sun shines on the beach in the west, the golden sand dunes shine slightly, a dilapidated fishing boat runs aground on the shore, a group of white black-tailed gulls play and play on the beach, flocks of sandpipers and sandpipers fly low along the beach, and no trace of terns is found on the wooden stakes of local fishermen raising shrimp.
