Gao Ping: The classic historical legend of Shennong Yandi has been passed down to this day

As the hometown of The Shennong YanDi, Gaoping not only has a large number of ancient temples and inscriptions of the Yandi Emperor with extremely high specifications and dense ranges, but also has many myths and legends related to the Yandi Emperor. In each legend, The Shennong Yan Emperor appeared in front of the world in various different images. The beautiful and moving legend makes the image of Shennong Yandi more vivid in folk communication.

Taste The Herbs Medicine

The place where Yandi Shennong's Pu Taste of Hundred Herbs invented medicine was on Gaoping Sheep's Head Mountain. Emperor Yan was mighty and his tribesmen flourished, but disease became the greatest harm.

For the sake of the health of his people, Emperor Yan traveled all over The Head Mountain, tasted hundreds of herbs, and sought good medicines for the people. Emperor Yan himself was a delicate jade body, and he could see through the surface of his body that the medicine he had taken was flipping back and forth in his body. Therefore, Emperor Yan tasted the herbs on his own to distinguish whether there was poison or not, and whether it could cure the disease.

Despite this, Emperor Yan was still poisoned by the weeds he tasted, and at most, he was poisoned seventy times a day.

The legend of the Lady of the Long Hats

It is said that Emperor Yan had married a wife, but this wife died soon after. Later, in Changpi Village, 2 kilometers away from Zhuangli Village, he married another lady, known as Changpi Niangniang. It is said that the famous product "Luma" in the southeast of Jindong was discovered by her. She woven the hemp into cloth, ending the history of human beings covering themselves with animal skins and leaves. Emperor Yan died in order to cure the plague, and his wife inherited her husband's zhi and continued to collect medicine to treat the people.

The mother-in-law of Emperor Yan of Changpi Village was "Living Guanyin", and legend has it that she often took medicine with Emperor Yan and tasted medicine, and also became a master of detoxification and poisoning, doing her best to help Emperor Yan detoxify. "Millet has an eye, wheat has a slit" Legend is the trace left by Yandi's mother-in-law after detoxifying the valley.

Since Changpi Village was the mother-in-law of Emperor Yandi, there is still a custom in Changdi Village that is different from other places, that is, whenever there is a drought and prays for rain, other villages can only respectfully burn incense and pray to Emperor Yan, but Changpi Village relies on the father-in-law's family, who is Emperor Yan, to carry the statue of Emperor Yan to the sun in the courtyard for three days, in order to punish the "son-in-law" and force him to restrain the fire and rain on the earth.

Jingwei reclamation

Emperor Yan had a young daughter named Nuwa, who often went to the "sea" around the mountain, or swam and bathed, or collected herbs. The shallow water beach is home to a short-stemmed oval-shaped plant with beautiful little white flowers. Emperor Yan named this herb that can clear the fire and diarrhea, Ze diarrhea, which is the meaning of Zezhong diarrhea.

One day, the baby girl came to the edge of the East China Sea, which was full of flowers, and unconsciously slid into the deep water, unfortunately drowning. Emperor Yan and the people salvaged the remains of the female doll, and they were very sad. Because Emperor Yan often took his daughter to the area of Mount Fajiu (西山) 30 miles to the west to collect medicine, which was the birthplace of the Zhanghe River (East Sea) under the Yangtou Mountain, he buried the remains of the female baby in the Zhangshui source of the Hair Hatoyama.

Not long after, people found that a bird appeared on the Fa jiu mountain, shaped like a crow, with a patterned head, a white beak and red legs, and every morning it was "jingwei, jingwei" and calling non-stop. So people named the bird "Jingwei Bird". It was also found that every day the bird flew over Sheepshead Mountain with a small wooden stick or a small stone on the mountain and threw it into the "East Sea" not far away.

Seven cloth incense burners

There is a temple built in Shennong City on Sheep's Head Mountain, called the High Temple, dedicated to the Yan Emperor. It is said that as early as the Han Dynasty, there was a golden incense burner in the temple, which was left by Emperor Yan. Whoever gets this golden incense burner will always be well fed. Therefore, the abbot who guarded the temple was frightened every day, and was always afraid of losing it, so he carefully wrapped it in a cloth strip, with seven layers of bread inside and seven layers on the outside, hiding in a secret place.

After the abbot's death, no one knew where the incense burner was hidden. Later, people found that the grain of the five grains grew particularly well, and they guessed that the abbot must have hidden this golden incense burner in the five grains. For the incense burner that has been outsourced here with seven layers of cloth, for a long time, people have falsely rumored "cloth" as "step", so there is a saying that there are seven steps inside and seven steps outside, and there is a golden incense burner in Shennong City. To this day, this phrase is still passed on by word of mouth.

Dedication to Yandi Ridge

In the middle of Hougou Village and Wanghe Village, northwest of Gaoping City, there is a Yandi Ridge, which is said to be the place where Yandi was dedicated.

YanDi accidentally ate a hundred-footed insect when he tasted the hundred herbs. The bug was about 15 centimeters long, reddish-black, as thick as someone's fingers, and had golden stripes on its body. This insect is very toxic, can rot the intestines, can not be solved.

After Yan Di ate the centipede, he rolled on the ground in pain. Who knew that a particularly large group of ants swarmed at him and climbed on him. Under the anger of The Yan Emperor, the ants obediently left the Yan Emperor like a soldier who heard the order and fled quickly.

Thousands of years have passed, and now there is not a single ant in Yandiling. The elderly man said, "There is a saint in the mouth of Emperor Yan, who said that he would let the ants roll far away!" ”

Although the ants did not make trouble, the degree of Yandi's pain could not be alleviated, and in less than half an hour, Yandi's life was terminated. Since then, this mountain has been called Yandi Ridge. Later generations built the Yandi Temple on the ridge in order to sacrifice the Yandi Emperor.

Taurus is riddle

Gohei Busan, there is a tall and tall mountain called Taurus Mountain. Once upon a time, there were often golden rays in the mountains, and after the golden light flashed, it was common for an old golden yellow cow to drink water in the Busan River. If anyone were to walk toward it, the cow would go to the Golden Bull Mountain, and when it reached the mountain, the cow would be gone.

During the Qing Dynasty, a Xiucai in Busan Township, surnamed Su Mingyuan, wrote a good article and liked to explore the ancients. He has gone to Taurus Mountain many times to look for the secret of the Taurus, but he has never seen the shadow of the Taurus. One day, Su Xiucai went to the Golden Bull Mountain to explore again, and sat tired and rested on the big blue stone. At this time, the mountain breeze was accustomed, and Xiucai fainted and took a nap on the stone. Suddenly, I vaguely heard someone talking, listened closely, and couldn't hear anything, and when I opened my eyes, I couldn't see a figure. He closed his eyes again, and in the haze it seemed as if a golden bull was talking beside him. The Golden Bull said, "I am a cow that helped Emperor Yan cultivate, and I was born on The Same Mountain on the same day of the same month of the same year as Emperor Yan." Hearing this, Xiu cai opened his eyes, but he didn't see the Taurus, and there was no sound. Xiucai closed his eyes again, and his voice appeared again: "When Emperor Yan was born, Xiangyun appeared. After the birth of Emperor Yan, he could talk in three months, walk in seven months, and use his brain to think about things when he was three years old..." Xiucai opened his eyes again, still did not see the shadow of the golden bull, and pondered for a moment, if he had some understanding. Only then did he feel that the stone under his ass was a divine stone, so he went home and took a hammer drill and carved three big words "Taurus Stone" on this stone.

This story tells the mystery of the birth of Emperor Yan, that is, Emperor Yan may have been born in Gaoping's Sheep's Head Mountain.

In addition, legends such as "Shennongjing", "Nichizhong city", "Tale of the Genie", and "Legend of the Temple of Five Grains" are still very popular in Gaoping.
