Wu Mou, a native of Guizhou, used this method to catch 260 "sparrows" in one go, thinking that he had found a bird catching divine skill, but he did not expect that this actually violated the law and sent himself to the classroom.
In early November, the Jinxiang Police Station of the Cangnan County Public Security Bureau received a report from the masses that a sack had been discarded near a sand field in the jurisdiction, and there was a bag full of sparrows.
The police on duty rushed to the scene immediately after hearing the news. After looking around, the police found a sack of sparrows and an abandoned seven-seat van. The police pulled the car door and found that the car was equipped with bird catching nets, players, simple audio and other tools, but the people in the car did not know where to go.
Subsequently, the police took the bag containing the sparrow back to the house. After counting, there were 260 sparrows in the sacks, most of which were dead.
The police further reviewed and analyzed the video surveillance in the area where the crime occurred. After a comparative investigation, a middle-aged man entered the police's line of sight.
After investigation and verification, the police confirmed that the owner of the discarded bag of sparrows and the vehicle was Wu Mou, a man from Guizhou. On the morning of November 21, the police arrested him in his home.
After interrogation, Wu confessed to the facts of the crime. Wu Mou, 44 years old, from Guizhou.
According to Wu's account, his son moved to many guests that day. He suddenly wanted to get some "wild food" for the guests, and also made his son's face light.
He thought about it and thought of a way to download the audio of the bird's call from the Internet and then use the horn to play the audio to trap the wild birds. In just two hours, he had harvested a bag full of sparrows, which made him very proud. But did not want to, on the way back, encountered the traffic police in the card check, because of the fear of the matter revealed, he hurriedly discarded the sack and got out of the car, he also abandoned the car and ran.
"I blame myself for not studying, not understanding the law, and wanting to save money, so who knows that catching sparrows is against the law now?" Wu regretted it. Later, it was identified that these sparrows were the northern red-tailed plover, the willow warbler, and the gray-headed duck, which belonged to the "three haves" animals.
At present, Wu Mou is suspected of illegal hunting and has been taken compulsory measures by the Cangnan police in accordance with the law.
