In early July, the Xuhui sub-bureau received reports from the public that someone had illegally traded wild catfish on the Yangtze River, and immediately set up a special team to carry out an investigation. After visiting and sorting out information, the special case team found that the criminal suspects Li X and Guo X bought aquatic wild animals illegally caught in the Shanghai section of the Yangtze River from the Liang brothers and then resold them to Wei X, who sold them to hotels and other places in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.

After further investigation, the police grasped the clue that Wei would buy wild fish and shrimp from Li and Guo again in Shanghai in the near future, that is, sent the police to the trading place agreed by the two sides to carry out an ambush. At about 9 o'clock on July 12, Li Mou and Guo Mou, who were trading illegally fished wild fish and shrimp, were arrested by the police on the spot, and the criminal suspect Wei Mou was intercepted and controlled by the police when he drove a van to the Shanghai section of the Sutong Bridge, and seized more than 50 kilograms of illegally purchased wild catfish and more than 30 kilograms of live shrimp from his car. From the 13th to the 14th, the police arrested the Liang brothers who were hired to fish illegally in Shanghai and Nantong, Jiangsu Province, and Wu Mou, who was processing and selling catches abroad, and successfully destroyed the criminal gang.

After investigation, the two Liang brothers in the gang each drove their own purchased boats and used homemade rope hook tools to illegally catch Fish and shrimp on the Yangtze River, and Li and Guo bought their catches from the brothers every month and sold them to Wei at a higher price. Since wild fish cannot be bought and sold in the market, Wei generally drives to find regular customers to sell, and Wu in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, is his main customer.

At present, 6 criminal suspects have been criminally detained by the Xuhui police in accordance with the law for suspected illegal fishing of aquatic products, and the case is under further investigation.
