Modern Express News (Reporter Zheng Wenjing) Mo Xizi's poems, known as the "musical poet", are always full of the transparency and clarity of the mountains in their music. He always sings about his hometown and preserves and shares the stories of the Yi people in the Yi language. Now, he chooses to use photography and writing to rediscover and record his hometown and childhood, and has created and published "Children of Nature", a sincere love letter to his childhood, parents and himself.
Recently, he brought this work to Nanjing Pioneer Bookstore Wutaishan Store to hold a book launch conference, and had a dialogue with well-known book designer Zhu Yingchun, Yutian Culture Editor-in-Chief Yao Xiangzhu and other guests, and shared the creative process of the book with readers.
Referring to "Children of Nature," Yao Xiangzhu recalls the reason for the original choice – a photo taken by chance on the road by Mo Xizishi. On the side of the mountain road, children played with various plastic bags of fertilizer into a ball. For those children, they don't think about it so much, they feel the joy and freedom of the moment. Eventually, the photo also became the cover of "Children of Nature".
This touch of the moment gave Mo Xizi the courage to plunge headlong into the creation of "Children of Nature", constantly shooting, writing, and polishing. This creation is more than three years.
"I didn't expect it to be so complicated to make a book. I just want to be like the children in this area, and simply be a grown up child. I think that this carefree feeling made me open myself up and become open, and that moment was the purest of all. He also said that he is also looking back through "Children of Nature".
Just like his music, his freedom and wildness, simplicity and sincerity, romance and imagination are also reflected in his "Children of Nature". With nearly 200 photographs and almost poetic texts, he sketches the changes in his hometown, and puts the innocence and poetry of man and nature into paper.
As a friend of Moxizi's poetry for many years, Zhu Yingchun was amazed by his creations in photography. For Zhu Yingchun, the biggest feature of this work is the local children. Unlike the children in the city, these dark-skinned children have clear, wild eyes.
In Zhu Yingchun's view, "Children of Nature" is the best gift of nature. Those who grew up in the countryside have a memory of the countryside and nature, and the same is true for Moxizi's poetry. It is not difficult to read in this book that all the nutrients and nutrients of nature are stored in his body. Yao Xiangzhu pointed out that this kind of vitality in the pursuit of nature, as well as the power of innocence and sincerity, is also the precious place of this book.
