Xiuwen Zhou, co-founder of United States semiconductor design company Marvell, passed away

On September 20, it was reported that United States chip manufacturer Marvell released an obituary on its official website, saying that its co-founder Sehat Sutardja died in Silicon Valley, United States, on September 18, 2024, at the age of 63. During his more than two decades at Marvell, Sehat served as CEO and has demonstrated leadership and innovative thinking that has enabled the company to achieve record profitability and scale in a short period of time. He successfully led Marvell to IPO on NASDAQ in 2000, further cementing the company's position in the global semiconductor industry.

As an inventor and co-inventor, Sehat holds more than 440 patents. He was named "Inventor of the Year" by the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association, an IEEE Fellow, and a frequent speaker on the future of semiconductor design and computing at events such as the International Solid-State Circuits Conference.
