Able to grip up to 25 kg of objects! The highest-valued humanoid robot company releases its second-generation product

On August 6, United States local time, Figure AI, a United States humanoid robot company, launched the second-generation humanoid robot Figure 02. Figure 02 can grip up to 25 kg of objects, has an endurance of 5 hours, moves at a speed of 1.2 m/s, and has 3x more computing and AI inference capabilities.

According to Figure AI, Figure 02 is powered by a motor, is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 70 kilograms, and is capable of working for 5 hours and moving at a speed of 1.2 meters per second. Figure 02 is equipped with a new generation of dexterous hands, which not only have 16 degrees of freedom, but also have the ability to grasp 25 kg of objects, which is 5 kg more than the previous generation, and the load capacity is close to the human level. Figure 02 also has six RGB cameras embedded in the front and back of its head and torso, which the robot can use to perceive the physical world.

In terms of software applications, Figure 02 has 3x more onboard computing and AI inference capabilities than the previous generation, giving Figure 02 the ability to perform tasks in the real world with full autonomy. In addition, with the support of the Open AI model, Figure 02 can talk to people through built-in microphones and speakers.

Figure AI founder and CEO Brett · Adcock said the first applications of Figure 02 target industries with the worst labor shortages, such as manufacturing, shipping and logistics, warehousing and retail, in response to the labor shortages that the world is facing worldwide. Earlier this year, Figure01 completed field work tests at the BMW plant in South Carolina, United States, and collected data for AI model training, where Figure01 can learn and perform basic tasks.

It is understood that in February this year, Figure AI announced that it had received $675 million (about 4.9 billion yuan) in financing, with investors including Microsoft, Open AI, Nvidia, Amazon's fund, LG Innotek, Samsung's investment institutions and Amazon founder Bezos, etc., becoming the company with the highest valuation in the field of humanoid robots.
