He is the director of the China Allegro Art Committee, a director of the China Qu Artists Association, the vice chairman of the Tianjin Qu Artists Association, and the honorary vice chairman of the Beijing Qu Artists Association. In 1960, Zhang Zhikuan was recommended by the famous cross-talk artist Guo Rongqi to join the Tianjin Radio Music Troupe, and under the guidance of Li Runjie, he mainly engaged in Allegro book performance, and learned cross-talk performance from the famous cross-talk artist Bai Quanfu. He has self-financed and planned and organized five national Allegro competitions.
