After attacking Heiyun Village and Li Yunlong was demoted, did any official reinstate him? See when he becomes a division commander

author:Literature and history

In the eyes of his superiors, Li Yunlong was a general who was loved and hated, because he could fight wars and "break through disasters."

During the Red Army period, due to "acting arbitrarily," Li Yunlong "went up and down five times, and "the commander of the regiment was removed three or four times."

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Yunlong remained unchanged in his true colors, and as a result, he violated military discipline and was demoted twice by his superiors.

The first time, Li Yunlong led a new regiment to defeat the elite Sakata Wing of the Japanese Army, but because he did not break through according to the order, he was punished by his superiors and demoted to the director of the garment factory.

But as you know, this demotion didn't last long.

Soon after, the independent regiment led by Kong Jie was attacked by Yamamoto Kazuki's special task force in Yangcun, and suffered heavy losses, and the deputy commander-in-chief was furious and dismissed Kong Jie, leaving Li Yunlong to take over the independent regiment urgently.

The second time, after the Wei monk was killed by the bandits of Heiyun village, Li Yunlong was furious and, despite Kong Jie's persuasion, sent troops to attack Heiyun village without authorization, and was demoted to the commander of the first battalion of the independent regiment.

This demotion was unusual, Li Yunlong appeared as a battalion commander for a long time, unlike before being demoted or dismissed, and was quickly reinstated. So, did Li Yunlong eventually reinstate himself as an official?

Some people believe that Li Yunlong will not be an exception this time, and after a period of time, he will be reinstated as an official. Moreover, this is well known to all levels of the Independent Regiment.

Why did the independent regiment, from political commissar Zhao Gang to ordinary soldiers, still regard Li Yunlong as the regimental commander after Li Yunlong was demoted to battalion commander? It is precisely because I believe that Li Yunlong will be reinstated as an official sooner or later.

But in fact, according to the setting of the original work, Li Yunlong is likely not to be reinstated as an official, and we can see this from the time when Li Yunlong was the commander of the division.

We know that Li Yunlong and his old comrades-in-arms Ding Wei and Kong Jie had the same starting line, and they were all leaders of the foreign regiment during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and even Li Yunlong's seniority was slightly higher than that of Ding Wei and Kong Jie, because his enlistment was earlier. Therefore, Li Yunlong's promotion should be faster than Ding Wei and Kong Jie, at least not slower than the two.

But the truth is diametrically opposed. Ding Wei was the commander of the column as early as the middle of the Liberation War, and Kong Jie had been promoted to commander in the late stages of the Liberation War, but Li Yunlong, until the Huaihai Campaign, was only a division commander.

The Battle of Huaihai broke out from November 1948 to January 1949, less than a year after the victorious end of the Liberation War, and Li Yunlong was still only a division commander, and if he had been reinstated as an officer, with his ability, his promotion would never have been so slow.

In addition, we can also see the hints from the positions of Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Regiment Commander Xing during the Liberation War.

Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing had long served as Li Yunlong's subordinates, especially Zhang Dabiao, who had been promoted by Li Yunlong, but their positions at the time of liberation were once higher than Li Yunlong's. Why?

Before Li Yunlong was appointed commander of the 2nd Division, the organization originally planned to promote him to deputy division commander, but Li Yunlong did not want to be a deputy, so he made an exception to promote him to division commander. What does this mean? Before Li Yunlong was promoted to division commander, his position was lower than that of deputy division commander, and he was likely to be only a brigade commander or regimental commander.

And after Li Yunlong was promoted to the commander of the 2nd Division, who was his partner? He was also Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing. Zhang Dabiao served as the chief of staff of the 2nd Division, and Deputy Commander Xing served as the deputy commander of the 2nd Division. What does this mean? Before Li Yunlong became the commander of the 2nd Division, that is, when he was still a brigade commander or regimental commander, Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing were already deputy division cadres.

Because Li Yunlong could let his superiors make an exception to promote him to division commander, but it was absolutely impossible for his superiors to make an exception to promote Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing, Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing could become Li Yunlong's partner in the 2nd Division Commander, and it was only possible that they had already been promoted to deputy division cadres.

This is even more enough to explain the problem, if Li Yunlong had been reinstated as an official, as his old subordinate Zhang Dabiao and Deputy Commander Xing, it would be impossible for him to surpass him for a time.

Therefore, during the liberation period, although Li Yunlong's highest position was only that of division commander, the promotion speed was actually not slower than that of Ding Wei and Kong Jie, after all, Ding Wei and Kong Jie's starting line was the regimental commander, and Li Yunlong was promoted from battalion commander to division commander step by step.
