As she searches for the trail, she meets Will (Tom Hiddleston), a married local pastor who is also seeking the truth. But Will argues that these words come from moral panic, and that only by strengthening the sense of stability that faith brings, one cannot create monsters.
Even when Cora and Will have different views on the search for the truth, they still find themselves deeply attracted to each other and both are caught up in the relationship, which makes the lives of the two unpredictable.
In 2016, the novel Snake of Essex was named Book of the Year by the Uk National Book Awards.
