The car can basically be repaired in time if it breaks down, especially for some new cars and novice drivers, and the car will go to the 4S shop if there is a little problem. However, due to the lack of understanding of the car and lack of experience, some phenomena are obviously not faults but are considered faults, and I went to the 4S store to check, only to know that it was normal, and I ran in vain. Today, we will take a look at several problems that are often encountered, which seem to be like failures but are normal, and novice drivers need to pay special attention.
1. The car was parked in place for a while, and there was a lot of water under the car
In the summer, this phenomenon is very common, but many people do not understand what is going on, and many people call for consultation or go directly to the store for inspection. I thought it was a water leak or oil leak, and I was very worried, so I quickly went to repair it. In fact, this is air conditioning water, which is a normal phenomenon. There will be water only if the air conditioner is turned on at idling in place, and there will be no water if the air conditioner is not turned on. Just like a home air conditioner, a lot of water is produced with work, and the air conditioner at home has a tube to guide the discharge outside, and the car air conditioner also has a tube to guide the discharge out of the car.
I always feel uneasy when there is liquid under the car, how can I be sure if it is air conditioning water or leaking liquid? There are two ways, one is to look at the position of the liquid, if it is on the right side behind the engine, it is the air conditioning water. The second is to look at the color or smell the smell. If there is no color and no smell, it looks like clean water, and it is air conditioning water. Any liquid in the car is colored, either black or something else, in short, it is colored, and it looks like a lump of oil.
2. After parking and turning off the engine, you hear a crackling sound under the car
This is the sound of the exhaust pipe contracting. The temperature of the exhaust pipe is very high, the front end is about 700-800 degrees Celsius, and the exhaust pipe is in a state of expansion when the car is running. When the vehicle is turned off, the exhaust pipe cools rapidly, and the phenomenon of thermal expansion and cold contraction occurs, and the metal shrinkage produces a crackling sound. This is also normal, and it won't ring again for about five minutes or so. In summer, due to the high temperature, the temperature of the exhaust pipe is also high, and the probability of encountering this sound is greater.
3. White smoke from the exhaust pipe
White smoke is especially common in winter, usually within a few minutes of start-up. This is because when gasoline is completely burned, a large amount of water vapor is produced, and when the fire is first ignited, the exhaust pipe and the air inside are cold. After the water vapor is discharged from the cylinder, it will quickly condense into a water mist when it encounters a cool exhaust pipe and air, and the water mist is discharged into the white smoke we see. As the temperature of the engine and exhaust pipe rises, the water vapor will not easily condense into small water droplets, and white smoke will not be visible.
4. The headlights are still on after the ignition is turned off, and they can be turned off after a while
This is actually a feature specially added by the manufacturer, called the headlight delay function, which is intended to illuminate your way home. Many people do not have street lights where they park, and if all the lights are turned off after the engine is turned off, it is not easy to see the road clearly after getting out of the car at this time. The lights are on for a while, which can illuminate the surrounding environment less dark, which helps the owner to see the road clearly. After about a minute, the owner walks away, and the lights are turned off, and the battery will not be on all the time, causing the battery to lose power.
5. The brake cannot be stepped on after the ignition is turned off
This is also normal, because when we apply the brakes while driving, we will feel that the brakes are very light and fast, and we can brake the car with very little force. The assist-assisted component is a vacuum-booster package, which relies on the vacuum of the engine to assist it. After the engine is turned off, there is no more vacuum, and there will be no power boost, and it will feel hard when you step on it.
6. When only the ignition key is turned on and does not start, the engine fault light is always on
This situation is often mentioned by the owner when the car does not catch fire, and the owner says that my car does not catch fire, and there is a fault light on. In fact, it is normal for the fault light to be on at this time, and it is not the reason why it cannot catch fire. Only after the engine is started, the computer self-test does not find any abnormality, and the fault light will go out on its own.
7. After the key is pulled out, the steering wheel does not turn
Vehicles that are lighted with a key are equipped with a steering wheel lock, and when the key is removed, it will automatically lock with a slight turn of the steering wheel, and the steering wheel will not turn at all. If you want to start the car again, the key won't be twisted, and some owners think it's a malfunction. Actually, this is normal, how to unlock it? Just turn the steering wheel left and right while twisting the key to unlock it automatically.
The above 7 problems are often encountered by car owners, but many people will think that the vehicle is faulty when they encounter it for the first time. After understanding, don't panic or run to the 4S store next time you encounter it, it's normal.
