author:China Youth Daily

"This night's wind blows, blows itchy, my lover, I am in another country, looking at the moon..." The lazy singing responds to the romantic blue lights and swaying rhythm, and the red hall of sanlitun North District at night is immersed in the unique free atmosphere of the livehouse. On stage, singer Cheng Fangyuan returned, dressed in black, neat and calm, still with her trademark short hair.

"In the words of Teacher Feng Gong, it is 'I want to kill you'!" After the first song "I Want You", Cheng Fangyuan greeted the audience humorously and warmly. Invited by the 24th Beijing International Music Festival, yesterday, she and bassist Huang Yong, guitarist Feng Chong and several other musicians and friends jointly brought the "Latin American Carnival" famous song concert.

The repertoire of this performance covers a very wide range of pop, blues, jazz and other styles, including highly sung songs such as "I Want You", "On the Shores of Baikal", "Childhood", and "Dear Daddy", which has been adapted by jazz, Puccini's opera aria. The small space and the number of visitors are not too large, which obviously gives Cheng Fangyuan more willingness and possibility to share.

Before singing his own song "Corazon of Sanlitun", Cheng Fangyuan explained: "'Corazon' means 'heart' in Spanish. As Beijingers, we have witnessed the great changes in Sanlitun. She talked about the record stores that were far away, and the handsome men and women and photographers who can be seen everywhere on the streets today. Warm fragments of memory, details that make people laugh, quickly narrowed the distance between the stage and the stage. Cheng Fangyuan keenly perceived the changes in the venue, and at the end of the sad "Lake Baikal", the audience was quietly immersed in the afterglow of the music, and she could not help but joke: "Did you sing everyone to sleep?" Let's sing some hilarity! "I have only you without him in my heart" immediately played enthusiastically.

Chengfangyuan: You can't stay on a certain period of time forever

Between the hands and feet, the most impressive impression of the square circle is casualness. Over the years, Cheng Fangyuan, who has often wandered outside the public spotlight, has traveled around the world, and the foreigner wrapped in a face scarf, cuba's classic car, polar ice and snow and penguins will be frozen in her lens. At the concert, Cheng Fangyuan paired some songs with video works that matched the temperament. "Music is dynamic, photography is static." Cheng Fangyuan said, "Photography is a record of life, and it is also another expression of me in addition to music. ”

Musicians, photographers, "life people", how does Cheng Fangyuan define himself today? "I still prefer musicians." However, Cheng Fangyuan felt that there was no need to label himself, "People's temperament is different at each age stage." Cheng Fangyuan's musical path is also changeable, originally a folk music student, she later became a household pop singer, embracing the image of guitar playing and singing deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Now, Cheng Fangyuan prefers jazz and Latin styles. "There's not that much chasm in music." This is chengfangyuan's personal talk. The musicians on the same stage were working with her for the first time, but during a few days of rehearsals, the collision of inspiration was direct and pleasant, "We didn't just run for one purpose, but we enjoyed the process very much." ”

Cheng Fangyuan also wants to change some of the outside world's prejudices against livehouse. "In the past, many people used to pursue grand and colorful things." When it comes to music, it seems that only glamorous evenings, huge stadiums, and elegant theaters are qualified places, and bars or livehouses are destined to belong to those who have fallen into loneliness. "In fact, livehouses are very necessary for singers and musicians, and they are very suitable for communicating with audiences." Cheng Fangyuan longed for the state of the famous singer and actress Barbara Streisand, and even after achieving high-profile achievements, Streisand was still willing to return to the bar to sing, which was the starting point of her music career.

The Red Pavilion allows Cheng Fangyuan to encounter the experience of singing livehouse for the first time. In the young years of that generation, the livehouse has not yet appeared, and Cheng Fangyuan, who is the peak of her debut, entered the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe at the age of 20, without the various feelings in the livehouse, and the Beijing International Music Festival opened the door for her. "I was very surprised when I first received this invitation." Cheng Fangyuan confessed that because as far as she knows, the music festival mainly stages classical works. This wonderful cross-border contact made her deeply feel that "this is an inclusive and open platform".

"We've never positioned ourselves as a 'classical' music festival in Beijing." Zou Shuang, artistic director of the Beijing International Music Festival, said. Jazz and rock masters such as Kenny Garrett, Cui Jian, and Luo Dayou have all left wonderful moments at the festival, and cross-border collisions are always happening, constantly expanding the outer edge of music.
