Large aircraft have been localized, why do you need to "import 100 aircraft"?

Recently, a friend said that the mainland will import another 100 Airbus large aircraft, and the order may be announced at the Farnborough air show next month. The Farnborough Airshow is a European airshow, and Airbus is a European company, in order to give Europe face...... And some friends are very puzzled, saying that the mainland has realized the localization of large aircraft, and the C919 is cheap and easy to use, why should they buy foreign aircraft?

The Farnborough Airshow is in the UK and is on par with the Paris Airshow. A lot of orders are announced at each of these two air shows, but not "to give face to Europe". You can't think about foreign issues simply by using Chinese routines, and both air shows brought together global aircraft, including the United States and Brazil, and previously Russia. Every order is also available, in short, whose product is suitable to buy whom, competition has a future, to learn to look at the problem with this vision.
A month or two before the air show, there is often news of orders. For example, it was reported that Turkey will buy 235 planes, Qatar will buy 200 planes, Morocco will buy 200 planes, Korean Air will buy another 30 planes, and so on. It is not surprising that the mainland wants to buy 100 Airbuses, but is it unreliable after all? Is it 100? In fact, Mr. Ra has not yet seen the exact news.
The mainland does not have very good relations with the United States now, and basically no longer orders American aircraft. According to rumors, the "100 orders" are all Airbus, all A330-900, that is, A330neo. The A330neo now includes the A330-800 and A330-900, which are upgrades from the A330-200 and A330-300 and are cheaper but not selling well.

Compared to the A330-300, the A330-900 received a new engine and was claimed to save 14% of fuel. However, compared with the A350, it has fewer composite materials, a heavy fuselage, and poor operational efficiency. However, Airbus prices it very low, with some saying that one A350-900 can even buy three A330-900s. Saving is also earning, A330-900 so there are also people who want. More than 130 A330-900s have been delivered, and Delta is even considering it as a future workhorse.
Which companies in mainland China need the A330-900? There are a lot of them! Frankly speaking, companies that now own the A330-300 can introduce the A330-900, including Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and Hainan Airlines. Hainan Airlines has already announced that it will introduce 20 A330-900s, and in addition, flyers believe that Shenzhen Airlines and Lucky Air will also buy them. They have benefited greatly from the A330-300, and it makes sense to introduce the A330-900 to replace the retired A330-300.
The three major airlines in the mainland have a lot of money, and now they have introduced a lot of A350-900. The A350-900 is technologically advanced and has better economic benefits than the A330-900. In the past, the three major airlines were thought to be inferior to the A330-900, but the A330-900 has a large capacity and is suitable for ferrying between domestic hubs or flying to tourist routes such as Bangkok. Because it is extremely cheap, it is suitable for the current predicament of the three major airlines, and it is reasonable if it is introduced.

If you count Capital Airlines and Tianjin Airlines, etc., you have 10 planes and I have 10 planes combined, and 100 planes are possible. But HNA has already been rumored to be "leasing," and other smaller companies are likely to do the same. In short, the mainland civil aviation market is the second in the world, so many old A330-300 must be replaced by aircraft after retirement, and 100 can be completely absorbed.
There is only one last key question, the mainland already has a domestic large aircraft C919, why buy an Airbus A330-900? If you can't answer this question well, you friends are going to find Mr. Laa elsewhere again. Let's put it this way - the domestic large aircraft C919 can carry up to 190 passengers, which is basically the same as Boeing's mid-size airliner 737-800 and Airbus's medium-sized airliner A320, and the maximum capacity of A330-900 is 460 people......
So......
