May 12 is the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, this year's theme is "Everyone Talks about Safety, Everyone Will Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Avoidance Capabilities", May 11 to 17 is the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week, In order to effectively enhance the awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation of community residents, enhance the ability of emergency avoidance, self-rescue and mutual rescue, and help the town's "peace and common prosperity" work, on the morning of May 15, 2024, the Party branch and neighborhood committee of Qinyuan Chunjing Community in Doudian Town organized a series of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity activities. Community residents and property staff participate in the event.
Before the start of the activity, the community secretary reminded residents in the mobilization speech to establish safety awareness, the weather is hot, do not ignite willow catkins, illegal parking of electric vehicles, flying wire charging, etc., to avoid fire. If it is found, it should be stopped in time or reported to the property and neighborhood committee to ensure that the fire safety situation in the community continues to be stable!
01 Knowledge Lectures
Qinyuan Chunjing Community specially invited professional fire teachers to give lectures to residents. The teacher focused on fire prevention, fighting and self-rescue, focusing on the causes of fires, fighting methods and escape skills of electric vehicles, kitchens and household appliances. Through on-site explanations, residents and property staff have a better understanding of fire protection knowledge and enhance fire safety awareness.
02 Fire extinguisher practical drill
The teacher first explained the key points and methods of using dry powder fire extinguishers, and used a four-step method for the residents to actually operate fire extinguishers, which are "one lift, two pulls, three aims, and four pressures", and then picked up the fire extinguisher and explained to the residents, "Pull out the safety pin, aim the sprinkler at the root of the fire, and press the switch!" Subsequently, he aimed at the root of the flame to extinguish the fire.
Through this drill, everyone really mastered the method of decisively and correctly using fire extinguishers in dangerous moments, and improved the ability to respond to emergencies.
03 Emergency evacuation drills
Before the start of the exercise, the staff explained the basic steps and precautions of emergency evacuation to the residents, and clarified the methods and measures such as escape, alarm, extinguishing and evacuation in the event of a fire. During the exercise, everyone evacuated in an orderly manner according to the established evacuation route and arrived at the designated assembly point safely.
The exercise not only tested the feasibility and effectiveness of the community emergency evacuation plan, but also improved the residents' self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities in emergency situations. Through the actual drill, the residents are more familiar with the evacuation routes and the use of emergency facilities, and enhance the psychological quality of responding to emergencies.
