In the blink of an eye, the footsteps of spring left unconsciously, and the gentle light summer came quietly.
What allows us to "see" the back of spring is probably the fluttering falling flowers, right?
Zhou Bangyan wrote about falling flowers, which is a bleak and scattered "asking where the flowers are, the wind and rain come at night, and the Chu Palace is buried in the country";
Li Shangyin wrote that the falling flowers were "the intestines were broken and they couldn't bear to sweep, and the eyes still wanted to return", and they couldn't bear to give up;
Song Qi wrote about falling flowers, which is the sadness, lovesickness and resentment of "falling into the red and turning red, and forgetting each other in the smoke and rain of the green building".
But my personal favorite is the poem written by an unknown Xiucai in the Tang Dynasty.
This showman's name is Yan Yun.
Regarding Yan Yun, there are few records in the history books.
I only know that he is heavy, Wu Xingren. According to Pi Rixiu's mourning poem to him, "Ten weeping are on the list, and the coffin is finally a Wuhu person", it can be seen that he has been promoted to the Shidi more than ten times but did not win, and finally returned to the hidden lake and mountain.
History says that he is very good at writing poetry, Du Mu and him are good friends, Pi Rixiu and Tortoise Meng also admire Yan Yun's poetic talent, and once deliberately visited the door.
Pi Rixiu praised his poems as "working in seven characters, often clear and soft, and sometimes shocking to the usual track".
"Shocking" means to break through and leapfrog, and "Chang Rail" means to be reasonable and habitually used.
From Pi Rixiu's evaluation, we can know that his poetry style is clear, soft and lovely, and he can often break through the convention, and sometimes have good sentences.
But it's a pity that he only left one poem "Falling Flowers" in his life:
Where is the spring rising, take a cup before the flowers.
Ask Huahua all day long, for whom it is scattered and for whom it will bloom.
Spring is so soft and beautiful but so short-lived, I don't know where it will go, only a glass of wine among the flowers, ask for the news of spring.
I ask the flowers all day long, who are you blooming for, and for whom are you defeated? But the flowers were silent, just sad.
The poem is just four lines, without a single obscure word, without any allusions, or even without any narrative.
The theme is very common to cherish the spring and sad the spring, lament the passage of time, and it is clear to read, so what is the beauty of it?
Throughout the poem, the poet begins with a question, "Where does the spring return"?
"Ranran" is a soft, slow, and gradual state. However, no matter how slow it is, Chunguang will eventually leave, so where will it go?
Who is this question asking? Obviously, it is not a specific person, but an anthropomorphic "flower".
Naturally, the flower could not give an answer, and the poet could only "take a cup in front of the flower".
In the face of the dying spring, the poet poured himself a glass of thin wine, as if he wanted to use the wine to drown his sorrows, but it exposed his loneliness even more.
No one appreciates the spring with him, and no one pities the falling flowers with him, what kind of loneliness should this be?
Next, three or four sentences are another question: "Ask Huahua all day long, for whom to open for whom." ”
The poet did not express his heart of cherishing flowers and loving flowers, but used the word "end of the day" to prolong the time of gazing at flowers.
As if he could be seen, he was holding his wine glass blankly, from the blossoming flowers to the falling flowers, from the sunrise to the dusk, and countless thoughts came to his heart.
When he was slightly drunk, he watched the petals drift away, thinking of the passing of spring, he muttered softly: "Flowers, for whom are you blooming, and for whom are you scattered?" ”
The sentence "ask Huahua silently all day long" was used by Ouyang Xiuhua in the word, leaving an eternal sentence of "tearful eyes ask Huahua silently, and the red flies over the swing".
And the sentence "for whom is scattered and for whom" has asked the poet's melancholy, and also aroused the sorrow of countless readers.
Yang Wanli's poem directly quoted, "The mountain road Tingting Xiaoshu Mei, for whom it is scattered and for whom it opens." Affectionate also hates no one to reward, so he sends low branches to blow his face. ”
Wang Anshi even directly quoted this poem twice in the word of a poem:
First, in the collection of sentence style poems "Plum Blossoms", the group of poems is "A plum tree in front of Baiyutang, for whom it is scattered and for whom it opens." Only the spring breeze is the most cherished, and it returns once a year. ”
Second, after returning to Zhongshan Mountain, he wrote in the small words of "Huanxi Sha" describing the Mid-Mountain Garden, "The corridor of the small courtyard is lonely in spring, and the mountain peach and creek apricots are planted two or three times. For whom the fragments are open. ”
Compared with them, Yan Yun's original poems do not directly express any emotions and emotions, but they are subtle and full of infinite imagination, and they have a deeper charm to read.
Yan Yun's poem "Falling Flowers" seems to be just a faint melancholy between the lines, but under careful reading, there is loneliness written in every word.
Out of appreciation for the poem and pity for Yan Yun, Du Mu wrote a poem "He Yan Yun Xiucai Falling Flowers" to consol:
It is a pity that the passing year cannot be stayed, and the circulating water is drunk and flowing.
The ruthless red is flourishing year after year, and he does not hate to wither but hates to open.
According to the records in the "Du Mu Annals", the poem was written in the fifth year of Dazhong (851), when Du Mu was serving as the assassin of Huzhou.

The delicate and bright flowers are merciless things, blooming year after year, why should you feel desolate for the falling flowers?
Instead of regretting the passing of the fallen flowers, it is better to pity the new flowers on the branches, because it is already doomed to the fate of withering.
Just as the falling flowers are ruthless, time passes like flowing water, no matter how sorry you can't leave it,
It's better to learn the elegance of the ancients for the time being, and get drunk freely!
"For whom it is scattered and for whom it is open" is an extremely personal emotion.
The melancholy in it is not expressed against someone or something, but expresses the loneliness and melancholy that often exist in the literati's hearts in the face of the passage of time.
This emotion is subtle, hazy, and uncertain, transcending the limitations of time and space, and has a long-term and deep artistic tension.
"Don't hate to wither but hate to open", with gentle pity and comfort, with Du Mu's unique philosophy.
