In August 2023, Mr. Huang came to the Food and Drug Environment Investigation Brigade of the Development Zone Bureau of the Ganzhou Public Security Bureau to report the case, saying that he spent 640 yuan from a WeChat friend through a friend's introduction to buy 20 drugs called "Kidney Tonic Bao", and after taking 4 pills, he became unwell, suspected of buying fake drugs, and asked the public security organs to investigate and deal with them.
After testing, the "Kidney Tonifying Treasure" drug purchased by Mr. Huang contained the prohibited chemical ingredient "sildenafil", and the Food and Drug Environment Investigation Brigade of the Bureau filed a case for investigation in accordance with the law. Through further investigation, the police obtained information such as the identity and address of Gu, a woman from Ganxian County, who was suspected of selling counterfeit drugs. On October 25, 2023, the police summoned Gu to the case in accordance with the law, and seized 532 aphrodisiac product "Kidney Tonifying Treasure" pills at his residence, which were later identified as counterfeit drugs by the Market Supervision and Administration Bureau.

After investigation, in order to obtain illegal benefits, the suspect Ding began to purchase a variety of Chinese medicinal materials by himself in 2017, and added a certain amount of "sildenafil" to prepare and process to make a white pill, and sold it to the outside world under the name of "Kidney Supplement" as a drug. Later, after the identification of relevant departments, Ding's so-called "kidney tonic treasure" is not only a "three-no product", but also a fake drug that seriously damages the health of the masses.
As of the time of the case, the suspect Ding had set up production dens in Nanchang, Jiangxi and Guangzhou, Guangdong, respectively, and the counterfeit drugs produced and sold had flowed to more than 20 provinces such as Guangdong, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang, with a total amount of nearly 10 million yuan.
At present, 10 criminal suspects, including Ding and his down-line agent, have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the public security organs in accordance with the law, and the case is being further investigated and handled.
