On May 11, the National Health Commission held a symposium on the 2024 "5.12" Nurses' Day in Beijing. The meeting conveyed the speech requirements of Liu Guozhong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, when he visited the front-line nursing workers at Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, and listened to the exchange of speeches and opinions and suggestions of the participants. Lei Haichao, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the National Health Commission, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Cao Xuetao, deputy director of the National Health Commission and member of the party group, presided over the meeting.
The meeting pointed out that the majority of nursing workers are an important force on the health front, and have made important contributions to maintaining and promoting the health of the people and improving the well-being of the people. General Secretary Xi Jinping is very concerned about caring for the majority of nursing workers and has made important instructions on strengthening the construction of the nurse team. In recent years, especially since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the national nursing work has made remarkable achievements, with the team growing, the structure optimized, and the service improved. The meeting stressed that all localities, departments and medical institutions should thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, further develop and expand the team of nurses, care for nursing workers, and strive to create a better environment and conditions for everyone. It is necessary to increase the publicity of nursing work, tell nursing stories well, and promote positive energy. The majority of nursing workers should continue to uphold the fine tradition, continue to optimize nursing services, and enhance the public's sense of gain.
