Since entering the university, he has actively participated in a number of national projects, including the National Key R&D Program, and is committed to scientific research and innovation, and has published 7 SCI Zone 1 papers as the first author, and the relevant research results have helped water pollution control and high-quality agricultural development. Lin Lei, male, member of the Communist Youth League, is a 2021 doctoral student in the Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, College of Natural Resources, under the supervision of Professor Zhong Zhi, a post-90s doctoral supervisor. He was awarded the first prize of the 12th China Petroleum Engineering Design Competition and the second prize of the school science and technology paper report.
During his Ph.D., under the guidance of his supervisor, he applied artificial intelligence technology to earth exploration and trained a set of neural network models that can automatically identify faults based on seismic signals, freeing researchers from heavy and repetitive work. However, the road to scientific research has not been easy. He often suffers from poor code debugging, unsatisfactory experimental results, and insufficient algorithm stability. After countless failures and countless attempts, after a long and painful process, in the past year, he has published three T1 papers and one T2 paper in top journals in the field as the first author, and he has also applied for 2 national invention patents, 1 authorized national invention patent, and 2 authorized software works.
In addition to research, he also wanted to do a little science popularization, and he used artificial intelligence technology to develop a small program for field outcrop recognition, aiming to help geology enthusiasts and ordinary students better understand and identify different geological structures. At present, he is working with Professor Andrew Gorman's team at the University of Otago, New Zealand, with the support of the China Scholarship Council, and continues to explore the path of scientific research. He firmly believes that the youth has the persistence of hard work, only then can there be the light of the fighting wave, and the development of the national energy industry needs young people who persist and innovate.

Liu Yaxu, male, member of the Communist Party of China, 2023 graduate student of the School of Economics and Management, representative of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Youth League, under the supervision of Associate Professor Zhang Qi. He is currently the secretary of the Party branch of the 2023 management master's class.
