Yesterday, Friday (May 10th), MotoE's competition session consisted of two practice sessions and qualifying. In the two practice sessions in the morning, in P2, when the drivers were starting to accelerate, Ferrari crashed shortly after entering the field, forcing him to end the practice session early; Both drivers did not finish in the top eight in the combined lap times of the two practice sessions and were required to run Q1.
In Q1, the ambitious Ferrari was aiming for a lap time in front of the grid, but a mechanical failure prevented him from going any further, and he finished sixth in Q1 with a lap time of 1 minute and 40.647 seconds. Finelo clocked a personal best lap of 1:40.393 to finish fourth, less than 0.05 seconds off Q2. Both drivers missed out on Q2, with Fernello starting in 12th place and Ferrari starting 14th.
After Friday's qualifying, Fernelo said, "If the crash that occurred on the last lap of Q1 is excluded, I am happy with the result of qualifying: I worked very hard, we were fast and missed a short time into Q2: 0.046 seconds to be exact. In terms of lap times, we were very close to the riders who were running in front. I'm sorry for the crash, but it's part of the race. I'm ready for tomorrow: if we show the same strength and strength as we did today, we'll be able to play two good games. Let's stay focused for tomorrow! ”
Ferrari said, "There is no doubt that it was a very difficult Friday. I had a good feel for the car, but unfortunately after creating a good lap time in P2, I fell off the car at Turn 1 and couldn't get back into the race (instantly). Also, I had a problem with my car in Q1 that forced me to stop and get off again. In the end, we couldn't run a lap with a good enough lap time. Tomorrow's race, we will work hard to move forward! ”
