However, it is a pity that less than a week after Marcos's words ended, the Philippines once again made trouble, and there was news that the Philippine military planned to send 100 civilian ships to forcibly enter Scarborough Shoal in order to "regain control" of the island, and the Philippine side determined that the PLA would not use any action against civilian ships, which was undoubtedly another "porcelain" operation by the Philippines in the South China Sea. From a military perspective, the US-Philippine joint military exercise ended on May 10, and the Marcos administration intends to use the "residual power" of hegemony to make "some progress" in the Sino-Philippine maritime dispute before the withdrawal of US troops from the South China Sea.
Before planning to use civilian boats to invade the island, the Philippines had already issued five "letters of challenge" to China, and it can be said that it had exhausted all kinds of means, but the result was to bring humiliation on itself. The first is to cooperate with the US military to conduct the "island seizure" exercise and practice sinking "Chinese-made ships," which resulted in continuous military exercises by the PLA. The second is to deny the "gentlemen's agreement", the third is to deny the "new model" between China and the Philippines on the Ren'ai Jiao issue, the fourth is that the Philippine side still refuses to admit it after Chinese diplomats produce audio recordings and other evidence, and it is still frantically provoking China in public opinion, and fifth, on April 30, the Philippines dispatched two ships to invade Scarborough Shoal, and was finally forced back by four Chinese coast guard ships, and the Philippine ship was almost "scrapped" by water cannons. After "exhausting the organs" in the fields of diplomacy, coast guard, and military, the Philippines has used its civilian ships as "bargaining chips" against China, and has already exhausted its cards.
As early as December last year, the Philippines organized more than 40 civilian boats to try to invade Ren'ai Jiao, with the result that the Chinese coast guard and a large number of Chinese fishing boats formed an "impregnable wall" and waited for the rabbits, and the Philippine ships returned in vain before they could get close. Compared with Ren'ai Jiao, the Philippines has a certain "geographical advantage" over Ren'ai Jiao, and this time it can be said that the Marcos government has made a desperate bet and is bound to "gnaw a piece of meat" in the South China Sea, and China has made full preparations for this.
Judging from the number of civilian ships, China has tens of thousands of civilian ships on Hainan Island alone, and the scale of 100 ships in the Philippines is not worth mentioning. On the one hand, the H-6K has recently entered Woody Island, with a combat radius of 3,000 kilometers just in case. On the other hand, the "10,000-ton drive" Zunyi led four main combat ships, including the Haikou, Kunming, and Xianning, to form a training formation and went to the South China Sea to carry out actual combat training.
