In 1922, the boss Chen Wensheng was happy to add a noble son, so he hung the mechanical clock presented by a friend on the door to celebrate. This is the most advanced mechanical clock at that time, the last clockwork, can go on time for 7 days, hence the name "7 days" gate clock.
Despite many changes, in 2001 the clock was re-erected in front of the Hengdali store.
In 2011, Hengdali Watch Store was recognized as "Wuhan Time-honored Brand". Ten years later, it will bagged the title of "Hubei Time-honored Brand" in 2021.
