This creative and energetic neighborhood is Handan's first train-themed street built on the site of the old Handan Railway.
The old railway of Hangang was originally responsible for the transportation of raw materials between the old area of Handan Iron and Steel and the three yards and the water slag transportation business of the surrounding slag plants. With the suspension of operation in the old area of Handan Iron and Steel, there are private construction, illegal breeding, and garbage piling on both sides of the railway, which seriously affects the surrounding environment. In March last year, the Fuxing District Party Committee and the district government demolished illegal buildings and garbage removal in the area, demolishing 14 households in 8 illegal buildings, more than 2,000 square meters, demolishing more than 400 meters of fences, and cleaning up more than 1,500 cubic meters of garbage. In response to the city's work deployment of "dressing up the city and improving the appearance", the district has carried out the overall construction and upgrading of the plot, using the unique geographical location of the old railway of Handan Iron and Steel to realize the gorgeous transformation from the back streets of the city to the characteristic streets through hardening, greening, lighting and beautification.
Bringing industrial heritage to life

"I never imagined that the environment here could be transformed so beautifully." Mr. He, who lives in the Pangcun community, said that more than 20 years ago, it was a dirty mess and people living in the neighborhood walked around, but now it has become a good place for nearby residents, who will come with their families whenever they are free.
According to the industrial policy, planning and layout requirements of Fuxing District, Ganghua Style Street will be built into an immersive commercial style street integrating "cultural tourism, special catering, leisure and entertainment, theme performances, online live broadcasts, and commercial shopping".
According to reports, the Ganghua Style Street is based on the industrial relics of Handan Iron and Steel, with a total length of 580 meters, covering an area of 15.12 acres, and will be built in three phases. The first phase of the project is based on the national tide in spring, and the design of the entire commercial street is centered on taking pictures, checking in, food and leisure, focusing on the slow life of the city, and 20 formats can be introduced. The second phase uses the idle land below the Ganghua Style Street + Air Corridor to create a night economy consumption scene; The third phase is planned to create an air corridor, which combines beauty and light shows to artistically present Handan's splendid history, culture and historical changes.
In order to highlight the elements of the steel industry relics, the project uses the old railroad tracks, turnouts, locomotives, conveyor belts and other relics along the line, which are generally divided into two sections: cultural leisure section and characteristic commercial street, its Chinese leisure section reflects the daily leisure mode of cultural gallery and flexible site, and the characteristic commercial section is divided into five parts: station commercial area, platform leisure area, train restaurant, camping area and square activity area.
Through new cultural tourism models such as "cultural tourism + industrial sites", "cultural tourism + commerce" and "cultural tourism + rural revitalization", the project not only "livens" the industrial heritage, but also achieves an annual output value of about 15 million yuan and directly drives the employment of more than 400 people.
Let the industrial heritage "fire".
Asked about the origin of the name of "Ganghua Style Street", Liu Yang said that the Fuxing District was born and prospered because of steel, and at the same time, it was also trapped because of steel, which is the origin of the word "steel"; The word "flower" means to actively practice the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, realize the old and establish the new, and open a new chapter in the ecological development of the Fuxing District; The "Style Street" represents a linear landscape that connects the past and leads to the future through the display of steel and railway elements based on the industrial culture of Fuxing District.
In order to achieve the ideal design effect, Fuxing District has hired many design companies to carry out high-standard overall planning. On the premise of retaining the original architectural form, style and texture of the block, the industrial culture will be integrated into it, the charm of the revival characteristic culture will be fully demonstrated, and an important ecological and cultural node on the east-west axis of Handan, a new functional supplement node on the Qinhe Ecological Green Corridor and a cultural heritage display node on the industrial relics of Handan Iron and Steel will be created.

There are three staggered buildings on the west side of the site, which is the commercial area of the station, which imitates the shape of the old Handan Railway Station before the liberation.
As far as the eye can see, the customs street will also connect the existing green space of the bamboo forest along the Qinhe River into the block, forming a relatively open square activity area under the conveyor belt, which can be used as an expansion space for external placement, and can also hold small concerts and play open-air movies, combined with the catering industry of the carriage, forming a vibrant and popular place.
Moving on, the site narrows to a long road that will serve as a cultural and recreational area. Old objects collected from the steel mill, such as ladles and butterfly valves, are assembled here into sculptures for display.
The attraction is led by the locomotive, along the railroad tracks to the end point is the bridgehead, that is, the north entrance, at night, the lights change, standing here, looking back at the whole train, there is a feeling of going back in time.
Liu Yang said that the renovation and utilization of the old railway site of Handan Iron and Steel is the beginning of the protection of industrial sites, and they will deeply excavate its industrial cultural connotation and the value of the times, so that the industrial heritage will not only "live", but also "fire" for a long time.
