More strikingly, when bananas and apples are eaten together, the frequency of 3-6 times per week is associated with a 43% lower risk of all-cause mortality.

However, this study only revealed the association between eating more bananas and apples and a lower risk of all-cause mortality in people with high blood pressure, and did not prove a causal relationship between the two.
