People's Daily Tokyo, January 11 (People's Daily News) According to the Asahi Shimbun website, January 11 is Japan's "Adult Day", and about 1.24 million "new adults" have entered a new stage of life this year. However, due to the spread of the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Japan again, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga issued another emergency declaration for 1 and 3 prefectures in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba and Kanagawa) on the 7th, which led to the "Coming of Age" celebration ceremony in many regions being forced to be held online or cancelled directly.

Despite this, Mashiko-cho, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, held an adult ceremony on the 10th for young people who have reached the age of 20. However, event organizers require attendees to undergo a PCR test in advance and obtain a negative certificate before participating in the event.

Speaking at the adult ceremony, Mashiko-cho Nagatsugu said, "I think that adulthood is only once in a lifetime, and that the whole community should support it, so I made a decision that is different from other cities. I hope that the new adults present here will be able to make different judgments from others when they encounter troubles or when they think about problems. ”

It is reported that the Mashiko-cho government provided a free nucleic acid test for young people who participated in the adult style, and checked everyone's temperature on the same day. Statistics show that 114 of the 212 new adults in the area attended the event, about 20% less than in previous years. (Editor: Xu Wenjin Reviewer: Chen Jianjun)
