In order to celebrate the 113th International Nurses' Day and carry forward Nightingale's brave and dedicated spirit, at 7 a.m. on May 6, nearly 3,000 students from the Medical Department of Wuhan City University wore nurses' uniforms to participate in the flag-raising ceremony and collective oath meeting of the 5.12 Nurses' Day, and were willing to dedicate their lives to the cause of nursing. Luo Jian, director of the medical department of the school, Du Zhengfan, secretary of the general party branch, and all counselors attended the flag-raising ceremony.
At the beginning of the flag-raising ceremony, the national flag guards carried the bright five-star red flag on their shoulders with a tall posture and walked towards the flag-raising platform with sonorous and powerful steps. The majestic and passionate national anthem sounded, the flag-raisers struggled to raise the national flag high, and the bright five-star red flag was raised.
After the flag-raising ceremony, under the leadership of Luo Jian, all the nursing students who participated in the ceremony raised their right arms and solemnly swore in the face of the bright five-star red flag, solemnly promised: "abide by the professional ethics of nurses, love the profession, be diligent and studious, be loyal to their duties, be conscientious, and dedicate their lives to the nursing career." The sincere oath echoed on campus for a long time, and every word represents the determination of students to become an angel in white, and they are bound to keep this oath in mind and practice it with action.
After the oath, Luo Jian delivered a speech, emphasizing that the nursing profession is an ordinary and sacred profession, an important force to save lives and help the wounded, and an important new force in the medical and health industry. The responsibility and mission of nurses is far more than just taking care of patients, but also constantly innovating and improving the quality of medical care and services. The school hopes that everyone will always remember today's oath, never forget the original intention, learn knowledge in school, lay a good foundation, carry forward the spirit of not being afraid of hardships and daring to challenge in clinical practice, be an angel in white who is trusted and warm by patients, and contribute their youth to the healthy China strategy and the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
Du Zhengfan took "love" as the core and warned all students, first, to love the motherland, remember the kindness of the motherland, study hard, and contribute to the development of the country. The second is to love your parents and repay their nurturing grace with practical actions. The third is to love your friends, learn to understand, tolerate and cherish the friendship between each other, and create beautiful memories together. Fourth, we should love ourselves, cherish our lives, face life with a positive attitude, and create our own wonderful life. Fifth, we should love our profession, strive to learn professional knowledge, improve professional skills, and provide better medical services for patients.
The students who participated in the oath said that they would use their own practice to practice Nightingale's noble oath, constantly consolidate the foundation of medical theory, improve nursing skills, and contribute their youth to the cause of nursing, the healthy China strategy, and the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
