On the afternoon of May 7th, Li Haiyan, deputy director and research librarian of Jinling Library, held a reading meeting of the new book "Children's Reading Map" in the Jingwen Library of Nanjing Normal University.
Li Haiyan, the author of "Children's Reading Map", is the vice president and secretary general of Nanjing Library Association, the first batch of young cultural talents in Nanjing, the young and middle-aged top-notch talents in Nanjing, and the young talents of the Library Society of China. Published by China Women's Publishing House, Children's Reading Map provides parents with a reading guide for children aged 0 to 12, which is divided into six sections, discussing the ways and methods of cultivating children's reading, as well as possible problems and countermeasures in children's reading.
Li Haiyan has been working in the library for a long time, and through her work, she observes the faces of the people who read in the library, especially the children reading in the library, and also thinks about some interesting questions: "I have classified the children who read and those who do not read, and compared the differences between them. I sometimes wonder if all open books are beneficial, and I can say that my research process has been a lot of fun. In her actual work, Li Haiyan also deeply felt the importance of the library for children's reading training, and she shared an insight from her work, "Once I heard someone in the library making a noise, thinking that it was a child playing naughty, only to find out that it was an adolescent girl, and her father was by her side to comfort her." Later, I learned that it was difficult for this girl to integrate into campus life, but she was able to feel comfortable in the library, gain inner self-consistency under the influence of books, and do some things more easily. I realized that the library is not only a place to acquire knowledge, but also to obtain emotional value, and in the environment of the library, reading can give more emotional feelings, and the 'public' nature of the public library makes the library a place for everyone to enjoy and grow. In the chapter "The Promotion of Children's Reading", Li Haiyan proposed that parents should provide suitable reading scenes for children and create a bookish reading atmosphere, and she believes that parents should make good use of reading positions such as libraries, bookstores, and reading spaces. Li Haiyan also mentioned the new problems in children's reading, such as some problems in children's screen reading, "I want to do more work in practice in the future, so that children can better integrate into reading life." ”
At the reading session, Ms. Men Ying, deputy director of China Women's Publishing House, shared the behind-the-scenes story of the editing and publication of the book, and said that it was a very readable book, with rigorous discussions, detailed information, and strong readability, which could provide effective guidance for educators and parents engaged in children's research. More than ten experts and scholars, including Zheng Jianming and Xu Yan, professors of Nanjing University, and Tan Fengxia, professor of Nanjing Normal University, shared their reading experiences of this book. Experts generally agree that the Children's Reading Map is a good idea of how children should read? "What are the right children's books?" It is also a re-education and cure for parents. The book allows parents to look at the past from an objective and scientific perspective, relieve childhood experiences and regrets, and help these "big children" save their childhood selves, thereby bringing the parent-child relationship closer, reducing understanding barriers, and promoting harmonious family relationships. The book has a broad academic vision, and the language is plain and not obscure, and I look forward to Li Haiyan's ability to produce another excellent work.
