Eighty percent of Americans regard limiting China's power as their top priority. What signal does this send?

The data shows that 81% of Americans have a negative view of China and believe that limiting China's power is a top priority. Forty-three percent of those Americans have a very negative view of China.
When it comes to U.S.-China relations, only 6 percent of Americans see China as a partnership. A whopping 50 percent of Americans see China as a competitor, and even 42 percent of Americans who participated in the statistics see China as an enemy.
I was really stunned when I saw this data. The data also showed that Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters had twice as many negative views of China as Democrats or pro-Democrats. What signal does this send?
In my opinion, this is a direct reflection of the fact that with the increasing strength of China, some Americans are really afraid, and it also reflects the fact that the relationship between China and the United States has become more and more tense in recent years. Although it is not clear what the number of people surveyed in this survey report is, how it is distributed, and whether it is an ulterior motive that deliberately selects some people who are relatively hostile to China to participate in the survey, there is an objective fact that the number of people studying in China in the United States has indeed decreased significantly in recent years.
According to the Ministry of Education, the number of Americans studying in China a decade ago was about 25,000, but by the end of last year there were only about 700. In addition to the liquidity problems caused by the mask incident in recent years, another important factor in the sharp decline in the number of people studying in China and the United States is the deterioration of Sino-US relations.
As everyone knows, since Trump took office, Sino-US relations can be said to have plummeted. During Trump's presidency of the United States, he not only directly canceled the regular meeting mechanism between China and the United States, but also directly launched a trade war against us, created various trade conflicts and frictions, and even engaged in a technology blockade, directly rectifying Huawei, the representative enterprise of Chinese technology. This directly caused the relationship between the two sides to take a turn for the worse.
I always thought that after Trump stepped down and Biden took office, Sino-US relations would ease and improve. As soon as Biden took office, he directly gave a chip science bill. This means that the US blockade and suppression of China's science and technology have not only not been relaxed, but have been further strengthened. And in addition to this chip science bill, there are also several bills in the back, such as the inflation bill, which comprehensively blocks China's new energy vehicles and other new quality productivity that represents China's advanced manufacturing industry in the future. On the other hand, the suppression of China's economy and finance has also been further strengthened.
Therefore, the investigation report released by the Pew Research Center still has a certain basis for authenticity and objectivity. As a representative of developing countries, China's economic, scientific, technological, military, and other strengths can be said to be increasing day by day since the beginning of reform and opening up. Progress is visible. In terms of economy, China is already the world's second largest economy, and its total GDP once reached 70% of the total GDP of the United States. In terms of military affairs, not to mention, China's third aircraft carrier, the Fujian, which was recently launched, is a typical representative.
So US President Joe Biden has openly declared that China is a competitor of the United States, not a partnership. That's what it means.
