In fact, even in the first seven months of the Philippine administration, that is, during the first seven months of Marcos Jr.'s administration, the departments and relevant agencies of both sides have been abiding by this agreement, which has effectively ensured the peace and stability of the situation at Ren'ai Jiao.
This agreement only lasted so long, and the Philippine government did not believe its word, completely repudiated the contents of these "gentlemen's agreements," and repeatedly questioned former President Duterte what "secret agreement" he signed with China. Against this backdrop, Philippine Defense Secretary Teodoro has publicly stated that the lack of agreement between China and the Philippines on the South China Sea dispute is just "a kind of propaganda" by China.
Obviously, the Philippine side intends to turn its back on the people and completely overturn the relevant proposals reached between the previous President Duterte and China, and resolutely follow the United States in provoking China. This approach is very infuriating, but thinking about it from another angle, it is actually a good thing, which is equivalent to giving China a "big gift".
If you think about it, the Philippine side has repeatedly sent ships to the warships of Ren'ai Jiao to transport necessary daily necessities, and the Chinese coast guard has basically released them after searches, and in addition to the humanitarian spirit, there is another very important reason, that is, China and the Philippines have reached a "gentlemen's agreement". Therefore, even if Sino-Philippine relations are tense, our side did not deliberately choke its neck and deliberately embarrassed the Filipino soldiers on the warship.
Not only did the president of the country deny the "gentlemen's agreement" between China and the Philippines, but the defense minister also began to deny the resolution, which cannot be blamed on China, because it was the Philippines that unilaterally violated the contract. Based on this, we can completely follow the rhetoric of the Philippine side and directly cut off the transportation channel of Ren'ai Jiao, so that the Philippine supply ships cannot pass, and those Philippine soldiers will naturally not be able to stand it after they are hungry and screaming.
In other words, we directly dispatched a coast guard ship to disperse the "sitting stall" warship with water cannons, and packed up those Filipino soldiers and threw them at the Philippine side. Then they will fill in the reef, blow the reef into a small island, and then send troops to station, so that no matter how much the Philippines shouts, it will not dare to forcibly break into the small island where the People's Liberation Army is stationed, and at the same time, it will also solve the troublesome matter of Ren'ai Jiao.
To sum up, there are actually many ways to deal with the Philippines, and the key lies in whether our side can make up its mind. The current situation in the South China Sea is that China has been making concessions out of the overall situation, but the Philippines and the United States are pressing forward step by step, and now there is no way back. If they continue to back down, the next step for the United States and the Philippines may be to force China to use force in order to drag China into a "proxy war," which is already an obvious trend.
