The General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Developing the Silver Economy and Improving the Well-being of the Elderly", which is the first policy document named after the "Silver Economy" in mainland China. Immediately afterwards, this year's "Government Work Report" clearly proposed: strengthen the supply of goods and services for the elderly, and vigorously develop the silver economy. There are nearly 300 million elderly people in the mainland, which has given rise to a huge demand for elderly products and services.

Diverse and rich geriatric schools in various places
Hangzhou Shangcheng University for the Elderly adopts the "white and black" school-running model, with the same teaching venue, taking classes at the University for the Elderly during the day and changing to a night school for adults facing the society at night.
A community geriatric school adopts a combination of old and young classes, which is also a new attempt, where most teachers do not charge for class hours, and students do not have to pay tuition.
Other neighborhoods have adopted a model of purchasing services from third parties. For example, the calligraphy and painting class is a small class of less than 15 people, 30 classes, 1980 yuan tuition, an average of 66 yuan per class, and the old people also accept this price.
In addition to education for the elderly, tourism is also a major channel for the elderly to enjoy their bodies and minds and improve their quality of life. At present, the demand for elderly tourism continues to upgrade, and the new generation of elderly people has shown better health conditions, more abundant leisure time, updated consumption concepts, more frequent travel willingness and stronger consumption power.
Eryuan County in Yunnan Province has evolved the place where Xu Xiake, a traveler who visited more than 300 years ago, into a local cultural tourism route. A local travel agency also launched a hiking plan for the elderly to "re-walk Dali Xiake Road".
The silver economy is a blue ocean with huge potential, which is full of opportunities and challenges, and it is also necessary to continuously improve the quality of elderly products and launch accurate services that are more relevant to the needs of the elderly.
