At the Geneva Motor Show, the all-new Dacia Duster was officially unveiled, and the new car is based on the styling concept of the Dacia Bigster concept.
Appearance: simple and a little tough.
The design of the front face is consistent with the concept car, the overall lines are not too complicated, and the lines on the hood and the large front bumper add to the visual toughness of the car.
The headlights and the decoration of the front face form a similar design to the through lights, the daytime running lights are Y-shaped, and the bottom surround is the fog lamp, and the design of the entire lamp group is similar to the Dacia Spring also released at the auto show, which is also a new family style.
The side lines of the new car are also relatively simple, without too many complex designs, and the overall look is also very full, in terms of size, the length, width and height of the new car are: 4343/1813/1661mm, and the wheelbase of the vehicle is 2657mm.
In terms of side details, the car features gold exterior mirrors, and the front door handles are more conventional, while the rear door handles are located next to the windows.
The rear of the car also looks fuller, with the DACIA logo placed in the middle and a thick silver surround at the bottom. The shape of the vehicle's taillights is still quite recognizable, and the Y-shaped design with blackened treatment can be regarded as echoing the headlights.
Wheels are fitted with 18-inch petal-shaped wheels with 215/60R18 EcoContact 6Q tyres from Continental.
Interior: Traditional design.
With a large area of hard plastic and a more traditional styling layout, Dacia aimed to develop a durable cockpit while keeping costs low.
The steering wheel has a flat design at the top and bottom, with grooves in the 3/9 o'clock direction to fit the hand, and in terms of functions, the right side is multimedia, and the left side is cruise control.
The vehicle uses a 7-inch LCD instrument, the driving information display is still very comprehensive, and there is a roll angle indication of the vehicle when off-roading on the right side.
In terms of central control, the vehicle uses a 10.1-inch touch screen, which is designed to be slightly biased to the driver's side for easy operation, and supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functions. Interestingly, although the in-car system supports wireless connectivity, the vehicle also comes with an original mobile phone holder on the central control side.
Different from the current trend in China, the vehicle is still equipped with a large number of physical buttons and levers. At the same time, the four air conditioning outlets in the front row are also decorated with gold.
In terms of charging, the front row is equipped with 2 Type-C ports, 1 12V power supply and wireless charging, which is relatively good in terms of type and quantity. In terms of seats, the vehicle uses dual-color fabric seats, which are not badly styled, and are manually adjusted.
The rear row is a standard 3-seat layout, but the comfort configuration is relatively simple, with only independent air conditioning outlets, 1 12V power supply and 2 Type-C charging ports, and the rear row does not even have a center armrest.
The entire trunk is unconventional, and the rear seats can be folded down and expanded according to the 4/6 ratio, and the flexibility performance is not bad. In terms of power, the new car will have three powertrains to choose from. The entry-level engine is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine + 48V mild hybrid power, with a maximum power of 130 hp, and the drivetrain is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, and an all-wheel drive version is also available.
The car is also available in a hybrid version, consisting of a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, a 1.2 dry watt-hour battery and an automatic gearbox, with a maximum power of 140 hp. Finally, an engine capable of burning LPG or gasoline will be offered, details of which have not yet been released.

The Dacia brand has always been the main focus on cheap in the Renault Group, and the performance of the new Dacia Duster is also more in line with our expectations, the exterior design is simple and slightly tough, and the interior is mainly practical, although the technology configuration is not amazing, but a variety of screens and charging connections can also meet the daily use in most scenarios, I believe that with a reasonable price will still be a pragmatic choice for many European consumers.
